There is causality.
There is no purpose though.

Everything can be classified as coincidence.... every single thing in the Universe.... since they are not planned to happen together nor in tandem in any way.... but simply due to the overabundance of 'events' taking place, its inevitable that many seemingly connected will simply happen in tandem by random chance.

Every thing that happens is merely the result of the events which led up to it. Its not going anywhere, nor serving any purpose.... It is simply a product of causality.... interacting with other products of causality and resulting in yet more.... well.... things happening.

Reason has nothing to do with it. There is no grand design. There is no purpose or goal to existence. The Universe is just a big collection of molecules bouncing around and pinging off each other aimlessly for all eternity... That much is obvious, and anyone who thinks otherwise (quite common, judging by previous replies) is living in a fantasy...

I beleive in Karma. So yes, there are coincidences, but they are rare - most things happen as a direct result of the type of person you are in this life.

for every action there is a reaction. we may not always be aware of what our actions are going to cause in the lives of others but we will have some sort of effect. just like when any of us ask or answer questions here as an example.

There are reasons for all things. But things are ususally very complicated and we cannot know the reasons.
I love music, but I have not much money to buy all favorite CD's. Suddenly, my wife brings home a new CD she bought for my daughter's birthday, and can enjoy it with thankfulness to God, to my wife, to my daughter. And this may inspire me for some good answer and question up here...
I just keep on praying for thankfulness to God and happily welcome anything occur to me: health or disease, union or separation, life or death...

I believe that people use the term coincidence incorrectly in their minds. Often times they think that events that coincide in a way that is either beneficial or harmful or odd happen as a result of "luck" either good or bad. In reality, everything has preexisting conditions that have caused it to come about. The ultimate and preeminent cause being God who works all things together for good to those who love Him and are called according to his purpose for their life (Romans 8:28).

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth. In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:3-12

I don't know for sure. I rather suspect that some things just happen, but that some things that happen are significant and can be viewed as nudges. But that might just be my natural desire to see omens and portents where there are none.
