To be honest everywhere round LS is overpriced and overcrowded. I'd walk a little down towards Soho or Covent Gdn- they are better in the week.

Otherwise try www.viewlondon.com for reviews. I use it a lot and the reviews are usually accurate.

It does snack food and isn't crazy expensive and has a really good atmosphere. Plus, if there's a group of you, you can reserve a table in the bar area.

Head to LAB on old compton street (2 mins walk from the tube station) - £5-7 for a cocktail, at-table service and the bar staff are awesome!!!

you can try salvador and amandas for tapas and well-priced drinks on old newport street - next door you will find the arts bar which is also quite cheap
