Hold on! How long have you been on the antibiotics?
They don't work like magic to cure immediatly!
They do take 24-48hrs to kick in, but slowly you should see results.
To help with the pain you could take panadol or ibuprofen (only if you've taken them before with no adverse reaction).
Other than that, go back to the doctor if your worried. The virus may have progressed since you last saw them and the antibiotic for the virus they believed you had was wrong.
An ENT is a bit dramatic for an ear infection at this stage, but if it persists or is common in occurance, maybe an ENT consult would not be a bad idea!

Give the antibiotics time to work-24-48 hours is usual . If you don't start getting relief after 48 hours you need to return to the Dr. You don't say what kind of infection you have. Is it an inner ear or is it in the ear canal? If you have had a lot of ear infections in the past and have been treated with antibiotics ,sometimes the Doc will have to use a different antibiotic. Call your doctor back and let him know you are not getting good results with the antibiotic.

try to consult with nearest ENT,maybe your ear canal was really swollen and it needs a direct application of medicinal ointment to fight fungus infection or other related causes.do it now before it's too late.........
