I am planning on riding a bike to/from to a total of about 1 1/2 hours a day max. Will this make my legs bigger and my thighs bulkier?

I'm on an ABCDEF diet, (with no alcohol, bread, starchy carbs, dairy, extra fat, and fruit; it's David Kirsch's) and I'm doing his New York Body Plan DVD. I need to do some form of cardio and I need to get to and from my house, so I thought that cycling might be a good idea, but in the book he says, "cycling tends to add bulk to thighs." I don't want that.

Depending on how you ride, it could. If it is a leisure ride, the bulk will be minimal. If it is a serious pump, with hard hills, then yes, there is the potential to bulk a bit. I wouldn't worry too much though. To gain much size, you would have to be lifting weights at low reps. I feel the benefit ( burning calories) would offset any muscle gain and you would probably never see a difference.

How so much muscle tissues you construct relies on the extent of attempt you burn up, and likewise on you frame form. Overall you can also truthfully shed pounds. A mountain motorbike calls for extra attempt to move a targeted distance, however you will have to be considering extra approximately effort and time than distance. With a avenue motorbike you'll journey farther and quicker for the identical power used. 50 miles every week isn't particularly all that some distance when you journey on a steady foundation, it really works out to just a bit over 7 miles according to day, This will appear plenty in the beginning, however as your situation improves, it may not be very so much
