Unfortunately, it's a huge fantasy with men to have 2 women at the same time. I know this scenario only too well. I feel he only suggested your gf because you both know her.
First of all, the gf wouldn't be hanging around us so much and second, I would just tell him that if that happened, your relationship would be destroyed and let him take it from there. If he insists, he's not the man you want next to you at night...I know, I've been there...

I would tell him that I'm in an exclusive relationship with him, and if he doesn't feel the same way, then we need to discuss an amicable closure to the relationship now, and not continue to torture each other with stupid suggestions.
Or I'd laugh at him, and point out he can't keep up with one woman, let alone two...and to just keep this particular fantasy to himself....or ask him if we can substitute his hot male friend, instead....or.....
Honestly, I'd go with the first answer. :-)

Get away from him. He wants your permission to be with someone he has the hots for. Threesomes can really hurt a relationship. Let him down easy by telling him you'll consider it if you can also have a threesome withone of his buddies. I think he'll wonder why you want his buddy and get pissed off.
