What if the family of the man he killed chose not to forgive him?!! It's just a nasty cycle going on. There's nothing you can do if somebody won't forgive you, what he had to do is get forgiveness from God. He could have asked the man to forgive him for stealing the beer, but if he wouldn't then there wasn't anything more he could do about it. If he asked God to forgive him then God would have.

forgiveness is a waste of time and energy
Forgiveness is a waste. By forgiving someone you are essentially telling them that you are so worthtless that you actually deserve what they did to you the not only does it not matter that they have dont what ever it was they are being forgiven for, but that if they do it again, or something worse, well then that's okay too. And to seek forgiveness is also a weakness. Essentially it is someone waying that they need outside approval for what they have done, or that they need someone else to tell them that the matter is over and done with so they can relieve their societally conditioned, externally imposed
Anyone that has to kill for forgiveness....should kill themselves and be done with it....

That is insane. This guy was crazy anyway. To forgive is a persons right if he choses not to forgive its his right one should accept it apologize and move on.To kill someone for not forgiving is insanity of the highest degree.
Sakina God forgives only when the injured party forgives you.Its not an arrogant forgiveness that one goes around hurtingh people and then asking God for forgiveness. You need to apologize to the injured person too.

Louis, I'm going to step out on a limb here and guess that this fella wasn't hitting on all 4 cylinders!!! Sounds like more of mental problem than a forgiveness problem.

No, never. If you ask someone's forgiveness and they refuse to give it you, it is not your problem1 you are actually free! That poor person who refuses to forgive and to let go, is worse off, for he/she has declared themselves a prisoner of unforgiveness! All that required of you as the one who did the wrong, is to have a true and deep remorse and regret for your wrongdoing. Then humbly ask, no even beg, the person for his/her forgiveness and do whatever you can to make it up to that person! Let your life then truly refelct your gratitude for their willingness to forgive you.
That is after all what Christ expects from us.

No, I would not...I'd much rather have God's forgiveness than man's...
...I guess the evil spirit in that man really wanted him doomed....It made him take ones life breaking a commandment of God...

Personally...no. The one who couldn't forgive probably couldn't forgive himself for something and transferred that guilt on to someone else.

No. I don't think I need anything enough to kill for it. It's a funny story, though. Irony is highly amusing to me.
