If I only had a few months to live I would want to know so that I would be able to share my last thoughts with my loved ones. I think this is the kindest thing you can do in a terrible situation. After someone is gone you would always wonder what they might have said. It's best for both of you to give them that chance. That way you will be left with memories to cherish the rest of your life.

No I don't think that is right. No matter how hard it may be for them to hear they should be told. Would you want someone to not tell you. They may have things they need or want to do. Not telling he or she actually may be more of a mercy on the one that has to tell them then the one you are telling. I don't think I could be the one to do that, I would have to have the doctor do that.
I was not with my father when he was given a short time to live, but my family told me some of what happened. The doctor told them he was bad and would not live much longer, and they did not tell him. But he knew, he was crying saying he didn't want to die. I think when you are that sick that the Doctor only gives you a few months to live you kind of just know. God knows for sure.

Not unless they were extremely old, unable to understand or had already told me before that they wouldnt want to know. It is everyones right to know information about themselves and not have decisions like that made for them. They need to be able to spend their remaining time how and with whmever they wish and to make whatever arrangements they feel is necessary before they die. Nobody has the right to take that away from them and it's not a mercy as they will know sooner or later anyway.

I guess it depends on what kind of person they are. Actually, I think people in that condition usually know there is something wrong with them. The difference is that some of them need to know the truth, and they should be told. On the other hand, some people would just get worse and live miserably whatever was left of their lives, because they are that kind of people who prefer kindle illusions.

It can be very painful and difficult to let a loved one know they are living for a few months and telling them can be a traumatic experience for both but once its told, the sick person can do all tht he should before dying.

I think if I'd had really ticked that person off i might go along with a gag like that. Actually no and wouldn't want any one to hide it from me but ya might want to consider if the person would want to know, and how would you find that out.

No. He/she deserves to know the truth, so that they can live the last months of their lives like they've always wanted to live.

No because they may want to sort out things before they die and that would be unfair to take that away from them
