Í know some friends who have tried it, but had no improvment

Very, but one shot will not do it. Generally speaking, you will get shots this year, that will act as a prophylaxis for next year.
I am so sensitive to oak trees, for example, that the doc mixes a 1 ppb (parts per billion) of the allergen, the next you I only react very slightly to oak trees, and not to any of the other items I get shots for.
That seem pretty effective to me, and WAY worth the once a week shots.

For some people allergy shots are very helpful...for others....not so much. My sister has horrible allergies/asthma and thus far in her allergy shot regimine she is doing only slightly better. She has been on the shots for 6 months. I did them when I was younger and they put me into respiratory arrest (I am also asthmatic).
There is no real way to know before hand if the shots will work...its all just trial and error and the patient is the guinea pig!!!

My son takes a shot a week for allergies. He is allergic to everything. So they shots is helping he can go outside and be a boy.

no permanant solution for allergies.just keep away from things one has allergy to.
