I am no expert but I believe twilight is the best time. That has been my experience.

Sounds like you're merely a logical, rational human being. ;) You've had personal experiences with your gods and goddesses, so the mere idea of working with them probably does not sound corny, right? Rather, there are certain practices that you have read or heard about that you find corny or fake. Don't do those. It's really that simple. First of all, there's a lot of nonsense out there written by people who have been Wiccan for a weekend, or who have modeled their practices off of Charmed, or whatever. Second, ritual is only as effective as what it evokes within you. Even if a highly respected writer suggests a certain ritual, it won't do you a lot of good if you're agonizing over the way it feels fake to you. Religion does not have to be contrary to rationality and common sense. An open mind means you're willing to consider new options, not that you accept and believe every option with which you cross paths.

As long as you are working for yourselves directly or with permission, anytime is a good time for healing. The phase of the moon need only be considered in the wording of the spell. and what types of healing you will be doing. waxing moon ( from new to full) is best for promoting health, increasing energy and vitality. While the waning moon ( full to new) is best for banishing pain, shrinking tumors, and releasing negative feelings. As for when it shouldn't be done, when the moon is V.O.C. or void of course ( inbetween planetary houses) this information can be obtained in the witches almanac & other places that offer ephemeral data. it is really hard to get anything done when the moon is V.O.C. Mercury retrograde can be a trying time for wording healing work, but if the words are written prior to the retrograde, the intent will not be affected. You can always put a contingency on the end of any spell work such as "may all astrological corrrespondences be correct for this working, may this spell not reverse nor place upon me any curse, so mote it be" then you have covered the bases.

It really doesn't mater what phase in the moon you do healing spells in....but when the moon is going towards full, is the best time. If there is no moon, I would stay away from it. The fuller the moon the stronger the spell. but I've known healing spells worked during the day that are very strong, but you have to be outside, and connected to the earth. (hands in the earth for power) it's very strong is your a gardener, even if you just like to plant flowers, visualizing the person as the flower or seed your planting, then taking care of it and making it grow.... helps you focus on the healing. Earth magic is much stronger then moon magic. What a wonderful idea you two have!!! Totally good for your karma, and helping people only makes your magic stronger!

For healings, the best time is the period of the waxing moon (betweeen the new moon and the full moon). The time of day or night isn't as important as the lunar phase in such endeavors.
In emergencies one could use the waning moon (between the new and full moon) to decrease the power of the illness but such workings are not as powerful and prone to unpredictable effects if used too often.

An absent healing circle? As in, healing for those who aren't present? Hmm, I am interested...
That aside, I'd look at your normal sorts of healing affiliations. Full moons would be good, moon in Venus, etc. I'd avoid waning moons and the moon in Saturn.

It would be best to get the permission of the person/people you are casting for. As far as when, well the new moon would be good because as the moon moves towards full so does their health. Remenber though that the person/people you are casting for must have faith in their own power as well as yours. It would work best if the person/people you are trying to help will help themselves through positive thought and practicing good health and hygiene.

Full moon time or waxing moon. Twilight is often traditional but i think it would be nice to perform it at dawn, has a nice symbolism to it and the sun is particularly associated with healing (apollo etc).

I agree that you have a wonderful idea! Just remember that you have to have the sick person's approval before working any healing magick. Not that it won't work without it but that is one of the laws of Wicca. You cannot heal without the person's approval.
Good luck!
