If someone wants to know about somethin then that's why they created this forum, and as Dyrtbyrd said, this isn't a serious forum, so yeah you're gonna have some rather strange or unorthodox, and pretty outlandish and possibly completely ignorant questions that have absolutely nothing to do with Martial Arts (ie: "how do I become a Jedi Knight").
to me, the only stupid question is the one that isn't asked.
and I'm no expert and don't claim to be, but I try to give as good an answer as I can to the best of my knowledge r try to research it to give the person a better understanding if I can, whether or not they take anyones advice here is purely up to them. my words are just as much my opinion as anyone else's here, I just try to give as fair and as accurate an account of ANY discipline without as little (if any) bias or predjudice as possible.
Michael S: I appreciate your vote of confidence, I gotta say also that you've had some pretty interesting points in your own answers as well, which I believe help the rest of us, it's the collective effort that really matters, and not just our own opinions

The only question I dislike on here is the one that is asked every single day it seems "Which is the best Martial art? or What Martial Art can beat all other Martial Arts? or Can this beat that? The so called experts (as you would say) would always answer this question the same. There is no better Martial Art just a better Artist. But I just found a new question on here I do think is Stupid and it is the one I an Answering.

lol, testicle molesting? That one made me laugh out loud, and Im at work. Anyway both sides have their share of ignorance. I have to admit that as a MMA fan I hate seeing some of the posts people put up here for it. I think there are more stupid MMA (Read: UFC) posts than traditional martial arts if for nothing else than the fact that the UFC has gained a lot of popularity in a very short time. So you get a ton of people who are saying things based on little to no experience. They also tend to be younger than your average traditional martial artist, or at least their maturity levels are. Traditional martial artists are guilty of it as well, but from a lesser extent. Maybe MMA lacks respect, or maybe there are just more people so there are more idiots.

I don't take issue with the questions as much as I do with some of the answers, especially the ones that claim that all martial arts that are not full contact are useless. No one can say that one is better than another if they are not masters in each and every one. Different styles are interesting, and traditional styles concentrate on different things than the more modern ones do. This doesn't mean that either is wrong, it means that martial artists need to be more tolerant of another way of teaching and learning.

i have to agree with quicksilver..
we're all here because we love the martial arts and want to share our what we learned, experienced and seen..
it's not a forum of experts in anyway, just people who have been doing things for a long time and who are able to give advice based on past personal experience..
yeah some answers may be pulled right out of people's @$$e$ but, and fairly intelligent asker can most likely spot someone who doesn't know what they're talking about, at least i'd like to hope.
and as far as the stupid questions.. like who would win between zena, warrior princess and china, the wrestler.. i think in some ways martial artists as people, we tend to take ourselves a little too seriously.. just have fun with the stupid questions, i do...
and if you feel insulted that someone asks you how to break a brick with your eye, move on and don't answer... it's that easy..

Actually, some of the most difficult to explain questions I've seen were answered by some great people here in the Martial Arts part of Yahoo Answers. Sure, not everybody will be serious - but that's likely because not everybody answering here actually practices Martial Arts. Not to suck up, but I've seen some great answers - especially from regulars like Yupchagee, Quicksilver, Dogpreacher, and more whose names I can't think of right now.

Because this is not a real serious forum.
So called experts? well some have very good answers and others are making up what their ego lets them.
I dont pratice martial arts or claim to know it but do like the MMA fights Pride, K1, WFA, Ufc etc. I like them ALL!
I do know UfC is not of the same caliber as the others and it doesnt take an expert to see that...sorry I jumped off the subject.

Basically for the same reasons people ask stupid questions about anything. Usually a combination of ignorance & arrogance.
As for "experts" giving stupid answers, we don't really know the credentials of anyone here. We only know what people say they have.

It's not stupid question that annoy me the most, it's when people ask where is the martial arts gym without giving any info on where they live that annoy me the most. We get that like once every week or two.
The reason most exper give stupid answer is because there's so many martial arts school that doesn't teach realistic martial arts. So in end people have false sense of secure.
Lot of it also have to do with never sparring full contact or realistic. For example many people here really believe that all it take to beat most people are a kick to knee. In real life it's very hard to pull it off unless someone is stupid enough to stand with their knees lock. Other believe they actually can rely on catchig opponent's punch when actually trying to catch a punch is like a hit or miss chance and very difficult.
Other reasons are they choose to turn blind eye to the sport. I know Pride, K-1, etc... are sport but would you really want to mess with those fighters in real life? Many seem to think all you need to do is kick them in nuts, poke them in eye, etc... but those guys aren't that stupid, it doesn't take much learning to know those stuff and it's so easy to avoid. Also the fighters tend to know what they're doing because it's their life. That's like as stand on 5th floor of burning building with your baby in your arms and you have to decide who to drop the baby down to for someone to catch. Would you pick a professional football player or some random guy who only play baseball on his free time? My point is K-1 and Pride and other fighters probably doesn't train for street but that doesn't mean they can't beat or would lose to someone who train only a hour 3 days a week.
So with all of fake instructors out there and many out of date styles and styles that refuse to evolve, it's not surprising to see so many stupid answers here.

people ask question about martial arts because of their curiosity.they see the movies and how martial artists are portrayed and they wonder if its any truth behind it .most of the ones who ask only ask because they are too reluctant to go and try for themselves because they think it involves extreme workouts and brutal sparring what they fail to realize is that once you get the grasp of martial arts whatever you might take everything associated with becomes second nature so the questions they ask might stupid but if you didnt participate youd ask the same kind of questions. its just ignorance of the trait that makes them and so you cant blame them
