Excellent! Write them a really sarcastic or amusing letter (you could try asking whether they want to poison you with salt), and you should get some seriously nice freebies. Not as nice as you would have, had you found a maggot in there, but still you should get something. Tell them you've always been a loyal customer, and trusted their brand-name, but that gosh, you don't know whether you can trust them anymore! They'll fall over themselves to instill you with confidence in them, and that should mean a nice big parcel through the post, or some vouchers.

oh that sucks! you should call the company and complain in a big way. i didn't realise salt and shake meant salt the bag, shake the bag and that's it!

Call up the customer No on the back of the pack, they amy want you to send them back to them. They are usually very accomodating.
