As a parent who has celebrated 30 years and passed our "Pearl Anniversay" I will say that there is probably not much that they want. In my personal opinion a card is all that is necessary - a lot of thought goes into the purchase of a card.
But I agree, if you want to do something nice either send them to a show with dinner after, or take them and enjoy the show yourself.
Not sure where you live, but West End Shows can be fab.

Get them a Magazine sub-scription.
WHSmith sells gift packs for individual magazines, and sometimes a person your buying for can choose between 3 different magazines. I have seen Readers Digest, various Home Magazines, Motoring Magazines.
They cost between £20 and £40 for a 12 month subscription.

Maybe buy a black 8x10 picture mat in which the mat is larger; put two pictures in the mat, (then and now pictures) buy metallic pens and have people sign the mat (family & friends) then to finish it off, glue fake pearl beads around the mat.
* Use maybe gold and/or silver metallic pens for everyone's signatures, and then buy another metallic color to put at the top of the mat "30yrs of Memories" or something along those lines*

Send them to Pearl Harbour for a holiday. Or learn to play 'Pearl Necklace' by ZZ Top ;-)

Do they like the theatre. You could get them some tickets to a show.

Champagne is always nice - or you could take them out for dinner to a good restaurant.
