a cold may be caused by many types of germs whereas flu is an infection caused only by influenza virus

yes there is a difference between a cold and flu! when you have a cold you tend to have the runny nose sore throat maybe a cough! But with flu you tend to experience more aches and pains all pver your body and generally feel like crap!!!

No they are not the same.
the flu Lowers your immune systems leaving you vulnerable to other diseases and lasts alot longer than a cold.
