This is true only if you look at certain religions. Unitarians and Universalists are particularly high in members who are more highly educated.
William S. Ament, 1927
C. C. Little, president of the University of Michigan, checked persons listed in Who's Who in America: "Unitarians, Episcopalians, Congregationalists, Universalists, and Presbyterians [who are less religious] are… far more numerous in Who's Who than would be expected on the basis of the population which they form. Baptists, Methodists, and Catholics are distinctly less numerous."
Ament confirmed Little's conclusion. He noted that Unitarians, the least religious, were more than 40 times as numerous in Who's Who as in the U.S. population. (Although I will dispute his contention that Unitarians are not religious)
Lehman and Witty, 1931
Unitarians were 81.4 times as numerous among eminent scientists as non-Unitarians.
Not surprisingly, the more liberal religions tend to attract the most highly educated and achieving people, particularly scientifically.
Conservative religions tend to attract a lower achieving and less academic persons.

They aren't. Just look at you President for an example. Obviously that's an over generalisation though.
Here's an example - the majority of the UK is agnostic and can be one of the most accepting nations in the world regardless of your nationality, skin colour, creed or sexual orientation (within reason).
Whereas the majority of the US are Practicing Christians and while the majorly populated areas are free from the obsessive persecution of minorities, the rest of the country is full of it. The majority still discriminate against skin colour, creed, sexual orientation and even sex before marriage (I read a story of a mother in Georgia that caught her daughter in bed with her bf, then charged him with raping her and won).
While I know that Muslims aren't inherently bad, I don't need to say anything about middle-eastern countries but I think the message is there.

They are not
If you check the wikipedia article on intelligence and IQ you will see numerous studies that show reigious belief is inversely proportional to intelligence. Also the place you are most likely to meet the highest percentage of practicing religeous people, outside a religeous congrgation, is in prison. It is obvious that religious people are basically supertitious and that is not intelligent. They also waste to much time in pointless rituals like praying and going to church and this reduces their productivity.

Every study I've seen of correlations between intelligence and religious belief, including studies done by religious groups, has shown the exact opposite of your idiotic, loaded question. Every step humanity has taken toward rationality and science has been a step away from religion and superstition.

Looking at your last question you asked, to quote "Why do I have so many big green bugers in my nose?"
I'd guess you are a self righteous christian type from the USA? Do you think the muslim world is "the most intelligent and productive people in society? " - yes i thought so.

It has been demonstrated repeatedly that, the more ignorant or illiterate a person is, the more fervently religious they are. The same can be said for entire societies. You should not make up "facts".

I don't believe your statement is exactly true.
However production often increases with a suitable routine.
For your question this routine is a religious one and yes it works for a lot of people.

This is a wrong statement to say.
Sounds like you are experiencing Pride, which is one of the Most deadly 7 sins, which God hates.
He doesn't hate you, He loves you, but He hates the sin of pride!
Repent, And change your attitude, your way of thinking, thus you may obtain a clear conscious, and will be able to go boldly approaching God in prayer.

I don't think you can link intelligence to religious people or the non-religious.

Here's a thought, why don't we all stop asking this same stupid repetitive question. It comes up about every two to three days: Why are Christians more/less intelligent than Atheist? Why are Atheist more/less intelligent than Christians. blah blah blah blah blah....
