Just because it is forbidden by any faith, it doesn't mean the philosophy/ concept is not true. The church used to insist the world was flat and that if you travel too far, you fall over the edge. Anyone else stating any different would be put to death or tortured.

People are not closed minded, these seem to be because they are intellectuals and want to have at least SOME proof before saying YES to it. I think that is very healthy, to be able to question and query before believing.

Even in non-religious environments, people want proof, those who follow blindly... well... if it works for them good I guess... Like the weapons of mass destruction issue, the world was seperated into the ones who will ONLY believe if they see proof and of course the sheep-like ones, who just say yes... because big brother said so.

As for the Cows in India, before debasing the belief system of any culture or faith, I think we should first check out why that culture believe it to be such... otherwise it only shows ignorance, The Indians hold very deep symbolic meaning to the cow, and its connection to the creator. Check it out before pointing, ridiculing and laughing...

Loud doesnt make it right nor wise.

In a way, there is a scientific type of 'reincarnation', that is, of the elements of the universe. All elements, being in a continuous process of composition and decay, eventually are composed into a new form that some may call 'reincarnated'. For example, when dinosaurs died out, their bodies decayed and eventually became earth ... from which plants and trees have grown and fed off of ... from which humans fed off of, etc., etc. So one could argue that today's humans are dinosaurs reincarnated.

Other than this, reincarnation, though a fun and interesting idea, is naught but error. For every spiritual concept one can find a physical counterpart. To suppose that the human soul is perfected by returning to this, the first world of God, until it reaches perfection is like supposing that when a baby is born missing an arm or a leg that he/she should be returned to the world of the womb for perfection in that world before entering this world. On the contrary, the baby is born into this world at a time appointed by God, ready or not. So it is with our soul. If we don't develope our spiritual arms and legs (trustworthiness, honesty, compassion, etc) we enter the next world of God spiritually handicapped. We can still progress, but it will be more difficult for us. Far better is it for us to draw close to God in this world and, consequently, enter the next world prepared.

I am a reincarnation believer, but if we were all to believe in reincarnation we may not get anywhere in this life time to achieve the goals we are suppose to achieve. I know i have lived many life times before.

Because there is not enough promotion, propaganda, and advertising on the reincarnation. Those who believe in reincarnation may not feel the needs for those marketing efforts. This is not the case with some other religions. How about it?

that is a good question im not so sure about human reincarnation but its possible i guess. but i do wonder about the reincarnation of animals. i just cant accept that fact that god would make trillions of souls just to die thats seems like a wast to me. man has judgement day and either heaven or hell but animals do not. thats why deep down i think they are reincarnated

the world population is increasing, even if some souls are being reincarnated, where are the new ones coming from.

I think the total lack of evidence hurts its credibility a little. Also, even if there was evidence for it, a lot of people just don't like the idea. If you're going to convince people of something without evidence, it helps if it's an idea they want to believe in. A better question would be, why does anyone believe in reincarnation?

sorry but you might be talking to some christians. in every belief there should be a basis. and reincarnation is never taught as a doctrine of christ on the bible. a person can only live once.

I was open minded about it before ... untill someone told me why he believed in reicarnation. He said something like: "why do you think there are some babies born without a leg/ arm/ with mental illness etc. It's because they've done bad things in the past and now they are paying in this life time. There's absolutely no other reason."

I thought that was so dumb it's laughable.

To each his own time and preference. I do believe in reincarnation. And I find it very compatible with the teachings of karma(reap what you sow) which is coincidentally being taught by Jesus himself.
