No cure I'm afraid, but try cuddling up under a warm duvet with some trashy DVDs and a hot toddie to help you feel better in the meantime

Get well soon!

I get a flu vaccination injection every year because I am high risk, but in the last 3 years I have had strains of flu that even the strongest antibiotics will not touch. I end up gargling a warm glass of water with a soluble aspirin and using Fishermens Friends Lozengers to sooth my throat. I try everything, but one of the best I find is dice up a large clove of garlic, then wash it down with a warm glass of a juice of a lemon and water with a teaspoon of honey mixed in.

The best way is to get plenty of sleep and drink more water, avoid smoky, stuffy, polluted area and do not smoke. It will make the flu worse. Build up your immune system by having the right diet, exercise and sleeping hours. This prevents you from catching a flu. For me, I have been taking anti-oxidant pills and have not had a flu for more than 2 years now=D

In Hungary, you fix yourself a nice, really hot bath.
You soak in the bath until your head gets hot and tired, then you jump out, dry off really well, and put on thick pajamas.
Rush into bed before your body cools down, and cover yourself with a lot of blankets.
The point is to get your body hot so that you kill the bugs inside (the body releases a fever to kill the virus anyway, you are just helping it along.)
Sweat a lot.
By the morning, often you are cured.

What you do need to worry about though is:
1) wet head (let someone else blowdry your hair in bed or something), don't go to bed with a cold head
2) lukewarm water (make sure it is really hot)

You need to break the fever, wrap up in your duvet to keep warm but also have a window slightly open for some air. Drink lots. I fyou are ok dont bother with expensive lemsips. Have a drink of hot lemon {squash or real juice diluted} with a spoon of honey in. Take a couple of paracetamol. You can have as many honey n lemon drinks as you want. Repeat the paracetamol as needed within dosage guidelines.
Lots of sleep as needed helps your body to fight the bug and aid recovery.

there is no known cure for the flu, but don't panic this does not mean you will die. The best thing that you can do for it is rest and drink plenty of liquids, this will ensure you have a speedy recovery.

Sambucol, Oscillococcinium, Esberitox, Garlic tablets, vitamin C, Echinacea and Golden seal, Lomatium, oil of oregano, and olive leaf extract have all been tried and helped someone. Rest, fluids, acetaminophen are the standard approach.

The more water you drink, the sooner you will recover. This is the oldest and still the most effective cure.
