between my girlfriend and I we have six computers. we also have no legal version of windows XP. when we purchase a legal copy how many times can we use it?

You can only activate on one machine . If you reformat it you may have to call microsoft and explain what you are doing in order for them to activate it again. You can install it on as many machines as you want , but when you go to activate it microsoft will tell you its already been activated.

HI,

see windows comes with a license EULA (end user license aggrement) it tells how many computer use can use.

do this

window key+R and type eula.txt
or start->Run then type eula.txt on which your OS is installed.

you see Grant of license heading under this (a) subheading describe you.

obviously you can use the software on several computers when it comes to registering it and getting the right serial code to make it work, well than that's when serialz come in. type that word into google and you'll get what you need.

My opinions is that it would be good if you continue using illegal copy of windows.

you can use it as many times you want. you can also install it into as many number of systems as you can
