I tried to install IE 7. it said removing current version. I waited for ages and nothing happened, so I cancelled it and rebooted my pc. I went back into the internet and I was back onto IE 6 when before the update I was on IE7 Beta 2. I tried to use toolbars, the home button, download stuff and it came up with module not found. I decided to do a system restore to before the update was downloaded. It was fine until I went into the internet, it had reverted back to IE7 Beta 2 but the word that appear on the top left of the browser were missing (file, edit, view, favourites, tools, help) I tried to left click and right click where they should be but nothing happened. I tried to get into internet options via my control panel but a box flicked up and nothing else happened. I even went into delete and add programmes and tried to uninstall IE 7 beta 2 but it got so far then when it got to the registory it stopped. I had to restore back. Please could somebody tell me how to get it to work.

hi, why not ditch Explorer for Firefox, it is free, uses less resourses, has a popup stopper and it's much safer, also it won't mess with your current explorer setup:

Hey remember that !E7 is still in the beta phases and there are lots of bugs to be fixed yet. If you want the tabbed feature of ie7 then just download the yahoo toolbar!

I suggest you work with ie6 for the time being till ie7 is ready for a formal release.

Takes a bit of savvy, but as said, it's a new favourites - the stars on extreme left do it all, while over on the right you've got the printer choices, the page and the circle symbols do everything and more that used to be on the file and view buttons, and I think there's more there on 7 than there was on 6. ALSO, bottom right allows you to scale the size of the page without having to fart about with the ctrl+scroll-wheel and there's the 'phishing' option too..

I had the same problem; this is how you get it work...

Go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall the Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 beta or whatever there is present. Restart here.

Then go to Add/Remove Windows Components under Add/Remove Programs and uncheck the Internet Explorer Apply and Then back and check the Internet Explorer again... (this will first uninstall and then reinstall the Internet Explorer). Restart Here.

Then Install Internet Explorer 7 and restart once just to reload the OS with the new Explorer. (I think this restart is not nessecary).

Hope this helps...

It happened to me too. My cousin helped me fix it back and I don't know how he did it.

Make sure you didn't lose any DLL files.
Get a program that would help you wipe IE completely and don't reformat your computer. It can be fixed. I hope you get it over with it.

And next time, stick back to IE6 until IE7 is completely fixed and the bugs are squashed. If you're worried about IE6, use FireFox.

I had exactly the same, IE7 takes away your File, Edit etc and I had the same problems as you, I had to get my IT man to come in and sort it out. £50 it cost me to get it back to IE6. Won't be trying to install it again!
