The Proverbs in the Bible were written by many who lived in Biblical Times. Depending on the verse or verses in question that you are asking about look at them again and the answer is there before your eye's.

Solomon wrote the book of proverbs. I used to be a Sunday school teacher of middle school kids before I developed Multiple Sclerosis 18 years ago. I use a Life Application Bible its wonderful .It's the new international version by Zondervan.I have learned a lot reading this bible. I hope you find one I know you will love it. Nobody knows who wrote the proverbs, they are a collection of wise sayings much like what you would find in a readers digest anthology, but back then there was no copyright law so nobody bothered to record names. I doubt if Solomon with those thousands of concubines, hundreds of wives and a kingdom to manage had much time for writing stories.
extra: You will notice through out the bible that books are named after the people in the story, not by their author. David did not write his own book, the kings did not do a bunch of op ed pieces, nor did the judges, not Ruth or Esther. Just take out of it all what you need.

The Book of Proverbs say they were written by three men, King Solomon, other proverbs written by King Solomon found by King Hezekiah's men, Agur and the King of Lemuel. However many believe that Agur and the King of Lemuel were pen names for Solomon due to their similarities to Ecclesiastices and the Song of Songs.
