Who told u chemical engineering is not an emerging one. Buddy its the deadliest of all engineering its about everything u can find more oppertunities in petroleum, minig, polymers and other industries. Do not shift additional u take up Marketing or any other course ur value would be doubled. In USA U can start a career with 200,000 dollors in the begining . How is that NICE? Better study well.

see every department has its own greatness and unique ness
urs is a very good one which is an all time faroute category
the problem is not with ur department it is with you in finding a job think about job search in a planned manner go to learn what u require to get a job
iam talking about ur skills
as a chemical fello you can look for many places as executive in petro, oil,pharma, where they will place u in manufacturing unit
and in r and d you will be placed as a assistant .......... this is all at the begining
