What do you think are reasons people dye their gray hair?

I would put it down to two things:

Vanity. We think we'll look better (and younger) without gray hair.

Denial. We don't want to admit or let others know we are getting older.

I've never dyed mine and never would. I just wish I could keep more of it.

Its pretty simple. Like wrinkles, gray hair is associated with old age so ppl dye their hair black to look young.As coloring hair is also a style statement, its better to color hair in different hues so tht u look stylish at the same time the grays are also not visible.

To feel good about the way they look. I like to dye my hair because it conditions my hair and keeps it beautiful and shiny and vibrant. I am not ready for all gray hair yet. I like to be attractive looking for my husband and he loves my hair. I happen to have very long hair and it is very beautiful and I color it every four to six months,just beacuse it makes me look pretty and makes me feel good about myself.

some people have just coloured thier hair all their life so when the grey roots approach they just keep covering them up because letting them grow would be a dramatic contrast and you cant really colour hair 'grey' i dont get many clients who have a full head of grey hair ask me if i can colour it perhaps they have a few blonde highlights in the summer! so it is mainly vanity hope i helped xx

my guess is embrace old age and that it's easier if you're hair start turning white then to keep dying them all the time. o and people also do that to look more mature.
