Boys are boys and just like to fool around, men are much more mature. Being a man has nothing to do with age but is something you have to earn.

Boys in high school and men seem to have no difference often times, because there are a lot of older boys that don't know the difference. They are never taught nobility, self-control, selflessness, chivalry, or anything pertaining to being a man. Words like "honor," "courage," "valor," or "strength" are often not even in the vocabulary of boys coming out of high school. I was reading some of the other answers to this question before I answered, and I have to say that many of them made me sad for my generation. "Better lovers" has absolutely nothing to do with being a man; I have known of some unbelievable men who were not even functional in that area. Consider these comparisons and contrasts:

A boy changes his mind twelve times in ten seconds, whether he will go to college or become a salesman or whatever. A man knows what he wants to do and he does it decisively.

A boy sees a woman as a piece of meat, and does anything he can to have his way with her as quickly as possible. A man sees a woman as a person, to be respected and (dare I say it) left untouched unless he is married to her. (Commitment before pleasure is a good guage for true love; the man with the ring isn't just playing with the woman's emotions.)

A boy is mostly concerned with what he can get out of life. A man is mostly concerned with how he may contribute with his life.

A boy looks at the surface and develops an opinion. A man considers what he sees and searches for the truth.

A boy will behave childishly, while a man wil behave responsibly.

A boy is concerned (and satisfied) with passing the next level of his video game, while a man is concerned (and satisfied) with reaching another ledge on the mountain he is climbing. (That is to say, a boy will be willing to live in a virtual reality, while a man seeks to conquer the true reality.)

A boy will masturbate, but a man will win the woman.

A boy will look at danger and seek self-preservation, but a man will run into the burning towers to save lives not his own.

A boy is satisfied with what he can see and what he has, but a man will seek out where he came from and why (purpose).

There is so much to being a man. I believe much of it has to do with man being made in the image of God, and a boy will not be a man until he has aspired to God-like attributes. I have known a few men, and I have known of a few men, and I hope to be counted among the men.

Three years. Between 18 and 21 a guy will have lots of real life experiences, get some college in, meet more people, work more, and discover a lot about themselves. It's why people should not get tied down at too young of an age. Of course the same thing goes for girls and women.

It depends on the boy/man. I know some boys that are responsible/caring and stable at a young age and also men in thier forties that act like children.

Boys think short term i think. on the moment gratifications, whereas men are more mature and think long term. they also concider the effects and concequences of their actions more than boys. Some guys just never grow up, and some are grown by the time they are in HS. it depends on the person and the situation.

responsibility. They become more aware of the things that are important in life. as far as relationships are concerned, they become less shallow and know the way a woman should be treated. And they also cross that line between just wanting to get laid, and actually wanting to pleasure a woman.
