The average speed of a cyclist depends on the cyclist, everyone is different. It can also depend on the bicycle you ride, whether it's a walmart bike or a high end Trek can make a difference.

The question you're asking can carry a wide spectrum of different possibility's for which there is really no answer.

Zero. Bicycles will not move by themselves. Should the bicycle be ridden, however, then speed is dependent on the skill of the rider.

on my mtb, i can pedal up to around 27mph. if im going down a really big hill, i can hit around 43mph. my bike is pretty normal - its a tricked out Schwinn ds with a deore drivetrain

12 mph is normal for the average biker....14 for advanced and 16+ for Lance........
