Catholics believe that baptism is necessary for salvation, can be done at any age, must be done by either pouring of, or immersion in water, that it washes away original sin, makes us temples of the Holy Spirit, adopted children of God, co-heirs with Jesus Christ, and members of God's true church.
Other Christian denominations accept only some of these beliefs. But most, if not all, practice baptism in some form.
The one I find most interesting is the Baptists ... who claim that baptism isn't really necessary for salvation.

Having belonged to several churches, a lot of them believe in adult baptisms rather than infant baptisms. The belief in most Protestant churches is tht baptism should be a decision made at an age of reasoning, and not in infancy.
Still, I hate those mass baptisms wher eyou go into the same small pool as dozens of others before you had.

Great question.
Actually, all Christian religions baptise.
Since the whole world was Catholic, before Protestantism came along, the practice took hold and exists in all Christian faiths.

Most all Christian religions perform baptisms. They do it at different times and different ways, but Christ taught to baptize.

Other religions baptize. My parents were Methodist , my brother is Baptist, and they were baptized. I think every religion has their own type of spiritual cleansing no matter what they may call it.
