My basic answer is to learn meditation. But there's a problem with the question: your desire to get *rid* of these emotions is itself contributing to them. The way to relate to emotions is to experience them fully -- a healthy mind will open up to the emotion and allow it to flow through its natural "life cycle".

Our unwillingness to experience certain emotions is the source of all sorts of psychological and developmental problems. All human beings have a range of emotions from sadness to anger to fear to joy, etc. You can't selectively turn on or off just the emotions you want to have: if you suppress one you suppress them all.

Part of the problem is that we live in a culture which really does not understand this: we're conditioned to believe that certain emotions are acceptable and others are shameful or wrong -- e.g. boys should not feel fearful, girls should not feel aggressive, etc. But the only way to master emotional health is to be willing to have the whole soup.

Note that this does *not* mean that you should "vent" those emotions -- we need to be responsible for our actions at all times. So the fact that you may feel anger, for example, does not mean you should vent it on someone else. The idea is to *have* the emotion, not act it out.

When you can allow your nervousness and anxiety to be, they'll allow you to be. You will find that they naturally evolve into something else if you provide an open awareness in which they can do so. That's what meditation is really good for, if you learn it properly. A teacher is very important for that, don't think you're going to pick up a book and master it, although such self-teaching may provide some benefit.

Why don't you get in touch with a psychologist?
