Actually, when GOD made Human, He was so fond of HUman that he Ordered Angels to bow before Human.

All the Angels obeyed GOD except one.
That Angel refused to bow before Human, saying,
We are made of Fire, & the Human is just made up of earth/mud...

the human has no comparison to me....
I have more power....
I can offer any thing u want....
I offer prayers 24hrs a day....
He cant do this & he will never do!

Replying to this, GOD said, OK from now on u go ur way & me & my human will go my way....

That angel said I am alone here... & I cant come against U...

So God Said I gave Human free will....
If u want to have ur people, U can do what ever u wnt...
make human obey u etc...
& atlast I will be with my people & u will be with urs.. burning in hell..

From then that Angel became Devil or Satan.
Who shows all wrong paths to follow....
like money, sex, power etc....

& those who follow devil are actually lost....

those who still follow GODs word, ignoring all the attractive things(which will remain in this world & not go with us to grave) will go to heavens with god.....

I think that the first two answerer's missed your question altogether.
I take it you mean ST. Lucifer.the Angel that fell from heaven from pride.
SATAN was made by the CREATOR to be the tempter of the human soul away from the Creators Commandments and to be especially hard on Jesus when he was born into this world. and try and stop or make him give up the mission that God sent him here to do.
Devils and daemons are followers of SATAN.
The Catholic Church in its attempts to draw in more followers through fear and shame . used the Idea of (AS ABOVE,SO BELOW) to create the idea of Hell that they borrowed from other religions. And had to find evil beings to fill the different levels with rulers so the demoted ST. LUCIFER even further and dropped the ST. part and just called him Lucifer ruler of the level of prideful people. This is a man made reorganization of things and may or may not be partly true.
that's 7 or 9 levels of each.
Even SATAN has a soul that was made by the CREATOR of ALL THINGS. as you do also and he has to answer to the CREATOR for all that he has done over and above what the CREATOR made him for.

God created many spirit persons similar to himself. In the Bible, these spirits are called angels. Also they are called "sons of God"(Job38:7;Psalm104:4 ; Hebrews1:7,13,14)God created them all perfect. Not one of them was a devil, or a satan. The word 'devil means slanderer and the word 'satan' means opposer.
The time however, came when one of these spirit sons of God made himself the devil, that is, a hateful liar who speaks bad things about another. He also made himself satan, that is, an opposer of God. He was not created that way, but later became that kind of person. To illustrate: A thief is not born a thief. He may have come from a good family, having honest and law- abiding parents and law-abiding brothers or sisters. But his own desires for what money can buy is what may have caused him to become a thief. How then did one of God's spirit sons make himself satan the devil?
The angel that became the devil was present when God created the earth and later the first human couple, Adam and Eve.(Job38:4,7) So he would have heard Gopd tell them to have children.(Genesis1:27,28) He knew that after a while the whole earth would be filled with with righteous people worshiping God.
That was God's purpose. However, this angel thought a great deal of his own beauty and intelligence and wanted to receive for himself the worship that would be given to God.(Ezekiel28:13-15 ; Matthew4:10) Instead of putting this wrong desire out of his mind, he kept thinking about it. This led to his taking action to obtain the honor and importance he desired.
What did he do? (James1:14,15).
The rebellious angel used a lowly serpent to speak to the first woman Eve. He did this much like a skilled person can make it seem as if a nearby animal or dummy figure is talking. But it was really this rebellious angel, the one called in the Bible 'the original serpent.' who was speaking to Eve. (Revelation12:9) He said that God was not telling her the truth, and was holding back from her knowledge that she should have.(Genesis3:1-5)This was a hateful lie and it made him a devil. He thus became an opposer of God or a satan. As you can see, it is wrong to think of the devil as a creature with horns and a pitchfork who oversees some underground place of torment. He is really a very powerful. but wicked angel.

Yes. The essence of all creation has its own divine will to be good or evil; to be just or unjust. Have you ever seen sparrows fight. Once I saw a car hit a robin. The mate flew there screaming for several days. I stood there and cried after I saw the accident. There is true love and faith in God's creatures.

Anything that can think for itself can be righteous or unrighteous. I've had pets around me all my life. They know when they have done wrong and some get a kick out of it. That has nothing to do with their nature. They too have a will from my experience with them. They make decisions.

Evil is perfect in what it is; angel or no angel. You would not know what good was without it. It has its purpose.

yes we are evil all of us have a sinful nature, its only when we are saved that we have a way of stopping the sin nature through forgiveness from God....
As for the devil he was once a angel one of Gods most powerful angels, and he tried to take Gods place so he was case to earth and was changed from an angel to the evil spirit and he and his followers are on the earth right now in spirit form giving people evil ideas, sinful notions , we all have a sinful nature and he knows how to get people to do their worst. that's why every things so messed up right now...Jesus is coming soon and the devil know its getting close and hes trying to get all the souls he can. If you are not a strong God believing, saved person ....he coming for you

According to one version of the story....The entity that became the devil was once an angel. When God created humans the agnesl were told that they had to obey the humans before god. This particular angel, Samael I think he was called, refused to obey anyone other than god, even though by refusing to obey humans he was disobeying God. For that disobedience he was cast out of heaven along with anyone that followed him and in his bitterness he began to tempt humans away form God to show that they were unfit to be followed.

Another version of the tale says that he was once the angel responsible for reporting mans transgressions to god and when man became too good, he started tempting man to sin so he would have something to report.

There are places in the bible that talk about Lucifer, before he was Satan, before he was evil, he walked heaven with interments of worship coming out of his body, he sang songs to God and angles would sing with him, His whole body was a one angle orchestra if you will,
God gave him and him alone in the Angel creation, the will to choose, and Satan was the first to sin, he got jealous, of God because he had the Angles bowing to him, mind you, there is no people there yet. None are created yet.
So Satan tricked one third of the angles to bow to him, and they all got thrown out of heaven.
In the new testament Jesus says, "And I saw the serpent, that old devil, fall from heaven like lighting,"
Jesus said he saw that take place, in Heaven,
Then the bible goes to say, that, Satan, was given earth as his kingdom, and that God created both, evil and good, for his pleasure, so his children would have two examples, and it was there choice to choose life, or death, and then God says, "Choose life,"
So Now we have two Kingdoms, the Kingdom of Satan, And the Kingdom of God.
the bible says Satan is the Father of lies, he comes to kill, still and destroy,
God says, but I gave you my son, Love me first, and everyone else, and don’t sin. And I will give you abundant life, now, and forever more. But both were created by God, so you and I could choose where we want to spend eternity, cause God will not choose for us, he already did, he said, "CHOOSE LIFE".
We have free will to live how we want to. Just as Satan was given that choice, only God new, he would do just that, God knows everything, and he cant make mistakes.
So next time you hear some pretty funky music, ask yourself, is that of Satan, he is still Lord over the Music on Earth. Think about it.

There is one school of thought that states God hired Satan to tempt us. He is not evil. Satan is simply doing his job (and he's doing a very good job).

It's somewhat of a screening process. You only get into heaven if you TRULY want God and can resist the temptations of earthly pleasures.

Two powers are always competing for your attention. God and Satan. It's your choice as to which you give your attention and your devotion.

Either that, or angels don't have free will, and even the fallen angels (Lucifer included) rebelled because God wanted them to. In which case, WTF? Or... God removed the free will of angels after the rebellion, and those left following him no longer have a choice. Which doesn't sound very all-loving and deific of Him either.

Satan was originally one of God's angels who rebelled against God. Satan decided that he wanted to have all the power, and when he couldn't, decided it would be best to decieve man in to believing that his way is better, and thus we are all living in Satan's world right now. Jesus promised the wicked one will be destroyed and that his time is short on this earth.
