The best person to talk to would be a recruiter . . .

A diploma might be required to get in the Navy, but shouldn't be required for buds - certain asvab scores might be required, special ratings, and physical fitness prerequisites.

I am sure you can but one thing I want to make sure you know is that they kick out like half the people from BUDs on the first day.

if you get kicked out the first day it probably has nothing to do with you they just over book the classes because they use it as an enlistment option.

if this happens than you are needs of the navy. Just remember that you will end up swabbing a deck on some destroyer, when what you wanted to do was run and gun. Join the Marines or Army if that's what you like to do. In the Army if you get dropped from SF training you can still be a Ranger if you get dropped from that you can still be infantry and that beats swabbing a deck any day.

alright buddy, heres the real deal. im already in the navy, and my buddy is a recruiter, so i know a few things. do you have a GED? if that is what you get from home schooling, then your ok. each recruiting station is allowed so many GEDs a month to enlist in the navy. if one station tells you no, then go to the next one, im sure they can get you in. and as for going to seals, i actually know what im talking about here. you CAN go to buds right after bootcamp, heres what you do. you have to pass a few physical tests while in bootcamp, like swimming and running and pushups and pullups. if you pass all of those, you are on your way to the hardest training in the US military. they have a 80% drop put rate, and if you make it, more power to you. i wish you the best buddy, and maybe soon i can call you a shipmate.

Ditto on the recruiter. I do think you'll need the HS diploma, but most home schoolers have that one figured out -- you'll need one about anywhere you go, right?

As I recall, you enlist in the Navy, go thru your basic, and then after you're in for a bit you can apply for Seal duty.

All I can say is, if you enlist in the Navy, THANK YOU. If you make it as a Seal, I'll buy the first round.

I don't think your home schooling will effect you. Provided you can score high enough to actually get in the Navy.

Then, when you get in, your home schooling will have absolutely NO bearing on whether you make SEAL, or are allowed to take training.

PLEASE NOTE!!! Do not let any recruiter tell you he can get you directly into SEAL training, it ain't gonna happen.

depends on whether your HomeSchool diploma is recognized by the military. if not, you need to add 15 college credits before you can even enlist.

Then you have to qualify for a source rating . THEN you have to pass the Physical requirements. THEN you have to be accepted into the program.

yes, because they have you take a test, called the ASVAB to see how well you qualify for certain areas of specialty in the military. If you do well on that, the options are greater
