Sometimes when I click on an existing file, it takes about 4 minutes to load up, and when it does finally load up, it forgets to open that file. I think the problem has become worse since I installed Adobe Acrobat Pro. Any ideas? I don't think I can reinstall MS Office because it's through the school and I already installed it my one alotted time. Thanks.

some files in Word or Excel might be broken. Try repairing the installation. Here;s how:

Open any office application
Click on Help> Detect and repair
Make sure the first check box for restore my shortcuts is checked and then start the process.

If its office2000, it will ask you for the installation CD. Offxp and off2003 might, but not always.

Also, try opening the files while Antivirus is turned off. Sometimes they are the cause.

you can speed up of opening your word or excel document by disabling the antivirus options because they will read and check each file and operation that take place in ur computer

I think that the antivirus will be necessary to u just wjhen u connect to a network or internet, otherwise u dont need the antivirus program, just disable it from startup, then before connecting to any network, u enable the antivirus,

You can do a repair install.

Just re-install it without un-installing it first. It should work...
