you are eating in a restaurant by yourself and an attractive, single male approaches you and introduces himself and ask if he can join you?

it's been years since I've done this but remembered the old days- made alot of great new friends with this approach- some more serious than others. Wasn't sure if the social mores was the same as I've been out of the dating scene with my prior status.

I would be slightly unsettled by such a direct approach, but very flattered. If he didn't look too pervy I would welcome him and get ready to flirt!! =)

That would be...awkward. If I was single at that time, not engaged, not seeing someone, then maybe. Just as long as he's at the other side of the table, and as long as he's not looking for a free meal. And if it turns out his mannerisms/personality aren't nearly as attractive as he is, then by no means would I let him stay.

Depends.. are you single also and looking for a single, attractive man? If so... why are the two of you not sitting eating together somewhere?

Try it some time and see the sort of reactions you get.

It won't be like anything people have told you here.

flattered but your reaction will depend on what status you are in....If you are single and looking then there's nothing wrong if you welcome a friendship with him....
