the last hospital I was in charge 3000.00 a day..it depends on whether you are going into rehab or just for depression. The only way you can get admitted anymore is to say you are suicidal...I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE.

You need to have a doctors order to be in a mental hospital. And yes it will cost money to be there. If you have a mental disorder that the doc feels can be helped best in the hospital setting your insurance might cover it. You didn't state what is going on with your sister and the what desires you mean but you need to discuss this with a health professional as living away from someone will not magically make the problem go away.

I have been an inpatient in a private psychiatric hospital 3 times this year and if you intend to go to a private facility it will most definetely cost, a lot. Unless you have top cover with a private health insurance company, then it will cost you nothing. Someone else has already said you can go to any ER anytime if you are feeling unsafe or are at risk of hurting yourself, but be careful if you do, if you say or imply you are having suicidal thoughts, they are obligated to hold you there, for a minimum of 72 hours, sometimes longer, against your will and there is nothing and no-one that can get you out before that time is up, even if you say you were wrong, didn't mean it, whatever. I have been in 4 such wards this year, and while some are better than others, none of them are nice places.

Usually yes. However, there are some facilities that will counsel you based on your income. If you don't have any income, there will be no charge. Also on the other hand, there are some hospitals that will counsel you on a 'charity' basis. This means that you will receive the service and you will be billed. Then you file papers with the hospital and they evaluate your papers to see if you qualify to receive that service at no cost to you. I'll be praying for you. May God Bless

Yes you will have to pay of some sort if you admit yourself. Now if you don't have a choice of being put into a home, i'm not sure. Can I add that be serious about this because once you admit yourself you can not leave untill they discharge you. You may go even more crazy being in the home. Do some hard thinking about this. Good luck

when i was young, i wanted to check into a mental hospital too. so i went there to take a look. those poor souls, like they are in a lost realm, abandoned by society. you can imagine what the nurses do behind closed doors. if you wanna get spiritual enlightenment, you should join a chinese martial arts school instead. you will gain alot from it and its cheaper.

If you are concerned that you may hurt yourself you can walk into any emergency room and they will help you.

As someone else already mentioned, for outpatient therapy you can often find community agencies that will offer a sliding scale based on your income.

I hope you find the help you seek.

Blessed be.

Tell the admissions nurse you are Eleanor Roosevelt and you'd like to pay in cash ahead of time...

Don't worry, you'll be admitted, ASAP.
