God bless you sister.....
in recent months this has become one of my favorite ayats(verses) of the Quran:
Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
-Holy Quran verse 2:62
i wish you all the best and will keep you in my prayers. thank you for showing the beauty of your faith.
asalamwalaikum (peace be on you)
EDIT: to il padrino, all terrorists are muslims?????? timothy mcvay was not a muslim. hitler professed himself to be a christian. i do not believe the spanish inquisition, the north atlantic slave trade, or the kkk was begun by Muslims. we ALL have our fair share of crazies...... all terrorists are not muslim and most muslims are not terrorists.
and about the Quran, verses speaking about killing non believers reference specific times of war..... they are not giving orders to all Muslims but telling a story of the time of the prophets.... i'd be more than happy to go more in depth on this issue with you if you contact me
peace to all

Who is not showing them love? The love of Christ means to tell them the truth which is that Christ is the way to God and Mohammad is not. Why does your question seem to imply that Christians are the cause of the perception of Muslims?
If Muslims are suffering persecution, it's by everyone. While all Muslims might not be terrorists, all terrorists are Muslim. Which tells me that something in that religion can be used to teach people that terrorism is the right thing to do.
Whether they are being taught what the Koran actualy means to teach or if they are twisting the scriptures is beyond my knowledge. From what I have read, I would tend to believe that the Koran does teach to kill those who aren't Muslim. However, I'd be willing to listen to an opposing view and change my opinion if that can be proven wrong.
All I know is that we are definately living in the end times and it won't be long before Christ returns.
**Sakina--
As far as when I said "All terrorists are Muslim", I was talking about today's time. I should not have used the word "all", but I figured it would be understood that I meant this day and age given current events. My apologies.
As far as Hitler, the inquisition, and other past wars...that's not terrorism, that's just war. Terrorism is another story. I'll give you the KKK. They use terror tactics to push their agendas.
I also accept your understanding that you said about "a specific time period for war". My question is that if it is so clear to understand that, then why does it seem most arabs in the middle east do not make that distinction?
What I have to conclude is that the Koran is very obtuse in it's writing and the individual is left to make their own interpretation. Good natured people will adhere to your understanding and evil people will claim Jihad on the world. I understand that there will always be room for interpretation in many texts...the Bible, the US Constitution, Laws, etc. However, the general understanding is shared among the readers. the KKK will interpret the bible to be racist...but 99% of Christians do not have those views.
Among the Muslim community, it seems that the middle eastern Muslims want Jihad and the Muslims outside the middle east generally have your view. That's about a 50% split in the interpretation. Who is right? That question is only answered in an individual light and not a general one. So, each Muslim will have their own understanding. That does not give the world comfort which is why Muslims are generally not trusted. You have no idea what personal interpretation the man sitting next to you on a bus has. It is not realistic to get to know every Muslim personally, so people make generalizations. They usually make the generalization they feel will protect them in this case...which is to not trust Muslims.
My personal view is this... I will not trust any Muslim ever again. Sorry, that's just how it is. Your bretheren over in the middle east have ruined the reputation for all in your religion. If I had a choice to get on a plane with Muslims or Hindus, I'll choose the Hindu plane.
Now, that is not to say that I hate any Muslim to include Bin Laden. I don't hate anyone nor will I condone hatred against them. I will give everyone the same courtesies no matter of race, religion or sexual orientation. I will show them love, compassion and mercy if it is in my power to do so because Christ commands me to. I have no hate in my heart for anyone. But, my view of the Muslim is tainted because many have shown what their agendas are.

While there are undoubtedly some kind and gentle Muslims, there are many Muslims, particularly in the middle east, who are anything but kind and gentle. I think that criticism based on facts is fair game. I sincerely hope that fair minded Muslims will respond to criticism by correcting problems rather than by denying that the problems exist.
The genocide and slaving of black Christians in Africa is a problem worthy of criticism. Estimates range from 20 to 120 million Blacks that have been enslaved and killed by Arab slavers over 14 centuries. Why aren't there millions of Blacks in Arab countries? Much smaller numbers of slaves were brought to North America and their descendants are now in the tens of millions. The reason is that the Muslims castrated the males upon capture and did worse to the females. Most died within five years leaving no descendants. I know the world was a rougher place in the past, but this problem is still happening now in 2006. We can't change the past, but we can change the present for the better. If American Muslims are genuine about their religion being peaceful, why don't they send a mission to Sudan to aid the Christians and to teach their wayward cousins the way of peace? (The problem is not limited to Sudan.)

In Christianity, there are exclusive perspectives. Many Christians consider that the Biblical tale of construction is a parable approximately our non secular dating to God, and receive evolution because the medical reality. Other Christians say that is flawed. Both are actual Christians, in the event that they consider that Jesus used to be conceved through God, born of the virgin Mary, died to avoid wasting us from our sins, and rose from the useless in order that we will be able to be raised additionally. True Christians don't agree approximately the whole lot, however we agree at the primary tenets of our religion. Unfortunately, in many instances we overlook the major matters and combat approximately what is much less principal. I do not know Islam very good, however I understand that Muslims do not agree on the whole lot both.

If you are a mouse in a cage, and a cat comes along (a very talented cat) and opens the cage door, would you leap to your freedom, and subsequently possible death, or would you stay in your cage? This very thing happened tonight in our house. The mouse was caught by the cat, but miraculously, the mouse survived.
I don't know what this has to do with Muslims and Christians, but you see, there were two mice in the cage, and the other mouse stayed inside the cage, and did not get caught. Let me tell you, there was a lot of wailing and crying going on in our house for about ten minutes, and I thought I was going to have to deal with the remains of a rodent.
Whether you are Muslim or Christian, remain calm at all times. Maybe that's the moral of the two mice.

thank u for being so understanding and such open minded, yes , ppl judged the islam and muslims because of the minority , although islam (which is an arabic word derived from the arabic word salam or peace ), it is really the religion of peace, and it preserve human rights whether muslims or nonmuslims , but unfortunately most ppl don't believe , or don't understand.
here are some:
god tells us in koran (o mankind we have created u from a male and female &have made u into nations &tribes 4 u to know one another, truly ,the noblest of u with god is the most pious ,truly god all knowing all aware)quran 49:13 also god created human beings as equal who r to be distinguished from one another only acc to their faith and piety.prophet muhammed (saw) said (o people ur god is one ur forefather is one (adam) ,an arab isnot better than non arab &a white tinged red person isnot better than a black person & ablack person isnot better than ared person except in piety).
thanks.

People have a tendency to fear people different, and things they do not know. A lot of people are uneducated in the Islamic religion. The way these terrorist act could be compared to those Christians who kill abortion doctors. They just have a skewed idea of what their religion means. I agree with you. Hopefully one day we can live in an America that doesn't judge against race, religion, physical characteristics, etc. God Bless.

Bravo! If only everyone could have such a kind heart! You know the popular saying WWJD aka: What Would Jesus Do?
Every Christian should ask themselves, would Jesus degrade and belittle Muslims too?

Muslims are not out to destroy the u.s or any other country and they are not terrorists. You have to remember that the u.s is the one went to the midle east and is killing families and innocent children and raping their women and now the Iraqi's are trying to defend themselves in anyway they can, they do not have the technology to defend themselves.

I do that every day. Some of my good friends are Muslim. We believe the other is wrong in our beliefs, but we do not let it come between our friendship.
