why does my thumbnail grow unevenly?

its been growing in waves for about a year. it has always been the right size in terms of surface area but if you look at it from the side it is in waves. never painful and i really never pick it since its always funny looking. no discoloration

they way you cut your nails might affect its growing in patterns ! Cheers
