what consequence should they experience in justice, that would serve as an example for others that might be contemplating illegally entering into our Nation?

I disagree with illegal immigration. I think it's wrong but i've also seen the human side. Do you know the average age of an illegal crossing? 12-16 yrs old! Mostly males who were sent to cross the border because their families couldn't support a growing man. There are children too. What would you do to them?

Do you think that any consequence that they may face or entering this country illegally is worse than the consequence of staying in their own country and starving. Why do thinking people not realize that sometimes people come here because there is no other choice. It is a choice of SURVIVAL and sometimes the only way that someone from Mexico can find to support their family. Ideally every country would take care of its own. This is not the case in Mexico - no social security there, and no benefits like here. No living wage. No enforcement for cleanliness or safety like Food and Drug Admin. - we live in such different circumstances that most citizens here can not possibly imagine the desperation that these people go through. We send money to all nations - expensive, yes. When will we enlist our world friends (that is providing we still have any left) to pull countries with so much poverty out of the mud. Here we all sit facing our computers - probably every one of us had dinner tonight, and our kids have a safe place to sleep and a meal to eat. There has to be a better way than letting people continue to come here illegally - I don't dispute that, but if they are already here there must be a better way to deal with this than to send everyone home and split up families. This is too big a question for this late at night. I'm getting some sleep. Wish we could solve this problem, but not likely. My daughter-in-law is a legal resident of the U.S. and all her papers are in order. It hurts me to know that people would look at her with disdain and even hatred and "assume" she is an illegal alien when she is not. This happens to many U. S. born hispanics too. Stop being so cruel, everyone, and try to understand. It will take better men than the majority we have in congress now to solve this problem (maybe we need more women) Vote for women on election day!!!

I don't have an answer to your question but I just wanted to point out that the premise is legally flawed! Not all illegals "entered the US the wrong way" as you stated. Many entered with a proper visa but something happened along the way and the visa expired or became invalid when they got divorced or their employer fired them, etc... Not everyone had an original intention to break the law, but S.H.I.T. does happen sometimes...

The current law (on the books) is that a person who tries or enters the US without coming through a proper point of entry and customs will be federally prosecuted and returned to their point of origin. After that point they can never enter the US.
The problem is not the law but the fact that we do not enforce it!!

Take away all benefits (except medical). Medical benefits are necessary in order to control disease. As for any other type of benefit... stop it all, so they will think twice about coming over here. There also should not be such a thing as "Anchor Babies"!
Stop the insanity!!!

Do you think the Pilgrims entered into the country in the "right" way? What consequences should they have faced for uprooting the Native Americans, stealing their land and DEPORTING them to reservations? Maybe this new wave of immigrants is "justice" for the White man.

Just a thought.

thats a hard one because if we keep them here and put them in jail/prison then us taxpayers are being punished cause we have to pay for them....but if we just ship them back to their country then they learn no lesson...they will just keep coming back until they slip through the cracks. it sucks, thats why we need stronger border control
