Don't mean to offend you or anything, just hoping to give an answer that you can understand no matter what your computer skills are.

A Human Interface Device is anything that you physically see or touch, such as a mouse or a keyboard. The USB part just means its plugged into a USB port (Rectangle-like port with a contact off the middle, for a picture see the sources). Usually keyboards or mice will be plugged in through USB, and often Windows will tell you its new hardware but still be able to use it. Try searching for where those ports are on your computer (usually one or two on the front and a few on the back) and see what are plugged into them. Try unplugging them one by one and putting them back in and see what windows says. If one of them pops up that window you are talking about then that would be the one.

Once you've found which one it is try looking for a disk that came with it. If there is none try searching for the driver on the internet, or if you have no clue what I'm talking about there Email me and I can help you further.

That might be referring to a USB Hub or, an internal USB PCI card, or even an onboard USB controller chip. You do need to run the driver that is on the disk that came with the mainboard, or, perhaps, the driver is one that might be in XP...

If that is the case, insert the XP install CD when the 'Found New Hardware' installer opens the window.

Its looking for a USB connection that is no longer there or you have moved a device off of its original USB port it was set up on. Either way its looking for some USB device you had installed I believe.
Or it needs the drivers to that device reinstalled if it required them.
Heres a decent link.......
