Ummm...I am going to go on the assumption that this guy is without a doubt the biological father of the child. And since that is my assumption, then yes. He needs to pay child support. It takes two to tango. Just because this woman got pregnant does not mean she did it on purpose. And she certainly didn't do it alone. No birth control method...or even medical condition...is 100% fool proof. If this guy really doesn't want anymore children, then he should get a vasectomy. It's a pretty common procedure, a lot more reliable than the word of another, and the responsible thing to do. He brought a child into the world, whether he wanted to or not. And he needs to step up to the plate, be a man, and share in the responsibility.

I don't think a man on this earth who is against abortion should be for an opt out law. I suppose some of them really do only care about themselves. I think this kind of thing would make people pay because they have morals. I guess the whole country is going in that swing. I am against abortion (unless its rape or serious medical reasons) and opt out. Making a law like that would be against so many of the women who morally COULDN'T live with the decision of having an abortion. Many fems believe in the right but say they wouldn't have one themselves. Sooner or later men will get this right and that is one of the many reason that I am not a feminist. I don't believe they are looking at the whole picture when it comes to women and men in this issue. Feminist want to push their weight around on this and its going to effect EVERY woman, not just the feminists. Oh oops and NO it would not lower the value of fathers more. It would probably increase it. Many single mothers know the value of a father. Many children do as well. See how many woman will understand after a law like that came into play.

Yes he should have to pay child support, just because he didn't want any children it doesn't give him the right not to pay for his mistakes. If he really was serious about not wanting children he should have gotten him self fixed so that he did not have to worry about this ever happening to him. As far as the baby's mom i think she had every right serving him with child support papers, she told him she had a physical condition to not have children he should have known that the possibilities are endless. If he did not want children then he should have taken better care of himself, and her as well. By law he does have to pay child support especially if a DNA test proves he is the father of the baby.

Sorry to say, but your friend will be paying $475/month for the next 18 years -- plus unreimbursed medical and dental expenses and 50% of daycare if your friend works.
It's sad for your friend, but it's even more sad for the baby. Every child deserves loving parents and this baby is going to have a father that no one likes -- and then the visitation problems will start. Poor thing, the stress that kid will go through.
I can't imagine why men even consider having unprotected sex. It boggles the mind.
No matter what that child needs to eat, have a roof over his head and clothes. Your friend helped create him so he has to help pay for what that costs.

I assume there was DNA test done???? To prove that he is or isn't the father.
This is something every human needs to know and accept. DON'T have . SEX unless you are prepared to be a PARENT. It is part of self responsibality. If you plant the seed and it grows a MAN needs to step up to the responsiblity.
ing
His intent.....saying he doesn't want to be a parent isn't protection against him being a father.
This is part of being human....you f.....around, you get a girl pregnent you pay the price. Just because the baby grows in the female does't mean that child is more hers than his. The baby is just as much his as hers.
Let this be a lesson to all who have sex....you have a sex and make a baby.....you are responsible for it. If you aren't ready to be a parent.....stop having sex.
Sorry, but your freind acts like a man (has sex) he needs to be prepared to be a man.

What she did was pretty low, but legally, he has to pay child support. He should have used condoms. Never trust women with "conditions". Your friend's story is VERY similar to my stepbrother. My stepbrother was seeing this girl in the summer who already had like 4 kids and said she had her tubes tied (or something of that nature). Anyhoot, she lied her *** off because now she's pregnant with twins. He says the babies aren't his though because supposedly he used condoms (which I hope is true, but it wouldn't matter to me either way since I no longer live there....). Anyhoot, it sucks he got suckered. I hope he at least demands to see the child regularly and request DNA testing to determine if he is, in fact, the child's father. For all we know, she could have been whoring around.

Poor guy my butt, we have enough dead beat dads out there please lets not add another one.. Now he is a grown man who made a choice and his choice was to sleep with this woman NO MATTER WHAT SHE SAID TO HIM without any protection, his fault for being so ignorant. Did he not even stop to think for one second about the consequences of a possibility of pregnancy or diesease.. OBVIOUSLY NOT, so he needs to stop being a self centered a** and whining when he should of thought about it before he did the deed... He deserves everything he gets.. Too bad he had to sell his precious car for a MISTAKE HE MADE.. BOO HOOO NOT!!!! Maybe next time he will cover up before he sticks it in

He shouldnt be forced, Its his responsibility whether or not he wanted kids he now has one so therefore needs to step up be a man & take care of his kid. Even if he cant pay what the judge asked, pay wat he has available & take the time out ot spend with his child, be there as he/she grows. Its only right and the child wont grow to hate him because of his lack of support. Every child needs the love and care of both parents

As much as he didn't want kids he obviously didn't do anything to prevent it. Now he has to live with his decision not to protect himself. Unfortunately it's not his choice whether or not he pays child support, it is the moral thing to do. besides if he doesn't there will be even more trouble down the road for him.
