i'm pretty sure everyone has heard the one about the farmer and his stuff. he has a fox, a chicken, and a bag of rice. he has to get all 3 and himself across a river, but his boat will only hold two. if he takes himself and his rice, then the fox will eat the chicken. likewise, the chicken will eat the rice. nothing can be left on a side with what it eats. what is the answer to this?! i have'nt been able to figure it out.

Take the chicken across leaving the fox with the rice
Come back get the fox
Take the fox across and leave it there and bring the chicken back with you. When you get back, put the chicken on the shore and put the rice into the boat.
Go back across with the rice and leave it with the fox
Go back and get the chicken

okay, you first take the chicken over, then you take the fox, but you bring the chicken back with you, you leave the chicken and take the rice, then you come back and take the chicken. Hope I helped.

Wow, that sure sounds like alot of work. There has to be an easier way. Seeing as he always seems to be trying to get his stuff across the river, why doesn't he just buy a bigger boat?.....lol
