I Have a Question I want to ask...
Okay, I Have a boyfriend who is totally consumed with TV and Materialistic things that its driving me crazy. but that's not the problem, the problem is he talks about Female Celebrities and how pretty they are all the time and Compare me to them, and of course I turn out --- "Okay" ex. Beyonce the r&b singer he absolutely gloats over, Jennifer Lopez, Halle Berry the Actress. and he has this "Thing" for lighter complected females and it makes me feel bad because I'm a soft brown complexion(not that i am ashamed) and it makes me think, why did he choose me to be with if I'm the Opposite of what he dreams of? SO, the question I am asking, should I give him the boot and leave him alone. Or should I just forget about the whole thing because it's silly. I Really truly Love Him, I would die for him, but I have doubts that he loves me the same way. Please Help,

He sounds like a chump. He's a fool if he's that obsessed about female celebrities. A few of them might get a positive comment out of me, but not many. And that's it. I think about them only when I see them, if I even think about them at all. Then again, I watch TV only a few hours a week. You can do better than that guy if he will not change his ways, I think. Good night!
P.S.: I like that advice above:
"Go on and on and on about male celebrities you like. I'm serious! Give him a taste of his own medicine. "
That might actually work. Also, try getting him involved in activites away from the TV (you might try that first). If not, you know what to do. Good luck!

OK Cinnamon Lips, tell your guy to get a life. Just kidding! There's a lot more to life than what the commercials pay for. If your guy's life only revolves around a TV, you better feel sorry for him. I think he is a bit immature if all he does is drool over Beyonce's and Jennifer Lopezs' booties. But, if he finds time to turn off the tv to just chill with you and praise your beauty and have a heart-to-heart conversation that doesn't involve the latest skin-whitening lotion. I guess you can work with him a little bit more.
Ignorance is bliss, maybe you haven't told him about your thoughts and feelings, therefore you're left wondering if you're good enuff, or if he's good enuff.. If you love him, you have to be open.

wow... how can you say... "I really truly Love him, I would die for him" and also say... "Should I give him the boot and leave him alone". If you really LOVED someone....giving them the boot wouldn't be an option, for something so petty. Seriously, if this bothers you, and you are even considering dumping him, then break it off.Obviously he doesn't treat you the way you want to be treated (even if it is something as minor as saying...he thinks celebrities are hot)... just find a guy that appreciates you for you. Dating 101 teaches almost all guys that you dont compare your girlfriend to another woman and say that she is hotter...even if she is... you can only admit that they are good looking... not compare. Dump the idiot for not passing Dating 101.

Get over it, all guys fantasize over woman that they know they can never have, I mean can you tell me that you don't see a tv star singer etc.. and think to yourself how hot he is.. It is a bit hypacrytical of you to be this upset. I mean maybe you should start saying things like so and so is so hot look at his body and see how he reacts. If it bothers him then maybe that would be the perfect time to tell him how you feel when he does it, and if he has any ounce of sensitivity he will get it and stop doing it...

i have the feeling that no matter what he will always b camparing u 2 them & thats not fair 2 u. tell him that ur not them ,u never will b them & if he doesnt stop compareing u 2 them that ull dum him . & if that doesnt get is attention about how wrong that is 4 him 2 do that them get rid of him .good luck

Honestly i would talk with him about it. i understand where you are coming from. (Cuz whe this happened to me i was the one talking about the celebs.. and it didn't make my bf too happy an now we ain't together....) so just talk to him about it... tell him how it makes you feel and what it makes you think like why is he still with me if i ain't like them? you know talk to him and if he doesn't have a good true answer give him the boot... or just give it time....
