What are the chances of someone having all boys if her husband came from a family of three sons-- and his dad came from a family of 7 sons? Is this genetic?

My doctor yold me that it is just a chance you take to have all boys or all girls it is all 50/50. But I have always wondered my hubby is one of 7 boys, and all of his brothers have only had boys, so I felt destined to have a boy, but we had a girl, and a boy for our second child. I was soo excited to have a girl, i didn't think it would happen.

the fathers carry the deciding gene for the sex of a child. it does sound like male predominance in this family, but it dosen't mean you will have only boys. there are several methods that may help produce a female child if desired , and visa versa, they were told to me by my ob/gyn, and i have 3 girls, and the one boy. we did what he said might give us a better chance at having a boy, and we did! WANNA KNOW? OKAY. if you want to conceive a male child, have your partner hold off on sex for a 3-5 day period, no cheating. the male sperm will build up, and they swim slower than the female sperm, but if they outnumber the female sperm, you have a better chance at having a boy. for a girl have him releive himself several times before you have relations, then the female sperms will outnumber the male sperms, because of the ejaculation, often, the male sperms are decreased in number. good luck . a healthy baby is the best kind!

My girlfriend's husband is from a family of boys. In fact, the last girl born into his family was over 100 years ago....until 2005. Little Nicole was born and boy was it an upheaval! I'm sure she got questions on 'was it REALLY his child'...yes she is...it's just funny that it took them 100 years to get some estrogen going!

I used to think that it was partly genetic...until last week. A friend of mine, who is one of 3 girls, and her mother was one of 5 girls, had 2 girls herself. Then last week, to all our surprise, she had a little boy.

My aunt was in a family of 5 children (4 girls and 1 boy) and she had 6 boys....my boyfriend's aunt was one of 6 girls, and had 4 boys then finally 1 girl.

So honestly...you always have the chance of having a boy and a girl.

it's not genetic,it depends on your husbands sperm if the x or y gets to the egg first.
If you do want a boy or girl you should read Choosing the sex of your baby,i am unsure of the author but it is a great book about when the best time to concieve a boy or girl

The sex of the child is determined by which gets there first x or y.
speedy Y's might run in families thus increasing the chance of males

It's all genetics. There's a 50/50 chance with each child, no matter which came before them. But boy sperm do tend to swim faster....

It's hard to say, i have three boys and my sister has three boys. Our mother, aunts, and uncles had a mix but mostly boys. My sister is pregnant now and we are keeping our fingers crossed for a girl, but we are not holding our breath!
