I didn't know that other colors had a meaning when it came to weddings. We all know that white is suppose to represent purity, but does every one that wears white meet that standard. No, of course not, so white no longer has much meaning either, except tradition.
The best colour for the bride is what ever colour the bride is most comfortable with. Does it really matter what anyone else thinks. It is your big day. Wear what ever colour your heart desires

White does not symbolize virginity and it never did. When it was introduced by Queen Victoria, it symbolized wealth because only royalty could afford a dress that would never be worn again. Otherwise brides wore their best dress, which was any color, usually jewel tones.
The best color for a bride is whatever she feels best in that looks good on her. Colors had superstitious meanings back in the medieval times which are completely irrelevant today. For example, back then, green meant you were a slut because of the grass stains from rolling around in it with a man. Today, it just means you like that color. Same for any other color of the rainbow.
White and ivory are actually not flattering on alot of women but they wear them anyway because that's all that the bridal stores have in stock and thus will allow them to wear. They aren't aware that they can have a local seamstress custom make the dress for them, because they're told by the bridal salon that the seamstress is incredibly expensive in comparison which is not true.
I have seen many online sites where you can get gorgeous bridal dresses in other colors. Another option is to get a bridesmaid dress. Alot are on the fancier side if that's what you're looking for but are still much cheaper than a regular bridal gown.
For example, I am pasty white but I have warm toned skin. My natural haircolor washes me out terribly so I have to dye it dark. If I were to wear white, ivory, rum pink (which is actually ivory and the pink isn't distinct enough to even earn the name) or any other pale color, I would be better off wearing that as a vampire costume for Halloween. That is how bad those colors look on me. Everything in my closet is bright or dark, as those are the most flattering. So it would be stupid and very strange for me to wear something light instead.
Figure out what color looks best on you that you love and get the dress custom made if you have to.

regardless of what colour the bride chooses to wear it is her & fiances day & ALL EYES will be on then anyhow.
BEST colour is whatever the lady feels good wearing & is most flattering to her.
I have recently seen photos of brides wearing red gowns- looked very rich
I have made gold;pink; cream;white;beige;green gowns for ladies
1 pink one really stands out as the bride absolutely glowed - she had such a fair complexion that if she had worn white she would have dissappeared into the dress. A g/f wore black & white for her wedding

white is not symbolic of purity and virginity, it was the color of the dress worn by queen victoria. The photos of her dress made it popular. At that time, blue was the color of purity and virginity, that is why the virgin mary is always depicted in blue. I have heard that white also represented the wealth of the brides family...after all, who buys such a beautiful and expensive dress that is so easily ruined and only worn for one day? I dont know about green though. But red was the color associated with prostitutes, and black the color for mourning death.

It used to be the tradition, a long time ago, for the bride to wear a blue gown. Then it became the tradition for the bride just to wear her best dress. White came around in the Victorian era. I wore blue for my wedding because it looked good on me. I'm very fair-skinned and neither white, ivory, nor champagne did anything for me. My cousin wore a burgundy gown and it made her look very tan. I don't think it should make a difference. Wear what makes you look your best. There's no law against wearing a color on your wedding day!

I don't know the meanings but some choose so they can match with their bridesmades and groom. Others will pick their favorite colors. I like pale colors for the bride including a cream, light pink, lavender, a baby blue, etc. It matters what the bride wants!

The only one I know of is white means purity...there is no real meaning to a colored wedding gown other than the fact that the bride wanted to be different.

I love light pink. That is going to be the color of my wedding dress when I finaly have the wedding I always wanted. I'm not sure about the meaning of the colors. I just think that it all depends on what the bride wants.

White is the best, it makes the bride feels more comfortable, confident & different than all the invited girls it also refer to how pure she is, and I think it refers that the couple will start a new pure life and there is nothing will make them happier than being together , and it is commitment from the both to make their life bright as the color.

In most cases, white.
In very traditional Chinese wedding, red, bcz red is the auspicious colour for Chinese.
White is traditionally known as a mourning colour in the Chinese culture.
But most Chinese opt for white nowadays, in line with the western influence.
Most also wear red during the wedding banquet or decorate the bridal room with red ornaments.
