Yes. Zoloft is known for that side effect as well sexual side effects. If you don't already exercise I would suggest doing so to keep your metabolism alive and well. Nothing crazy -exercise wise if you are not into it but something. I have gained about 20-25lbs over a period of about 4yrs. Starting to lose a bit now. Also if you suffer sexual side effects talk to your doc. Mine put me on a low dose of Wellbutrin which counteracts with the zoloft.

I took Zoloft for 14 years. I gained a ton of weight, like over 130 pounds, but I also had several babies, didn't exercise and ate like a pig. So, it was nice to blame it on Zoloft!

Some people become manic and lose quite a bit of weight. Others just lose a little. I've not known anyone to gain on Zoloft.

Yes, Zoloft is one of the antidepressants that can contribute to weight gain. If that happens maybe cut down on carb intake.

You probably didn't gain weight from the drug you took but rather from your mental problem. Depression can lead to weight gain or loss. It depends upon the person. At times when you begin to feel a little better you begin to eat more. Depression does funny things to the human body.

I didn't gain weight on Zoloft, but it affected my ability to have an orgasim. I haven't had that problem with Prozac and they have a generic for it now.

Hi, I gained weight on Zoloft, but I take high miligrams for panic attacks. You probably won't. Everbody is different.Don't be afraid to try them. But if you are in your teens, don't take them. They have said that younger people commit suicide on them. So becareful and good luck.

Zoloft is used (UNLABELED USE) for eating disorders...
Which is weird because it can cause anorexia as a adverse effect. But weight gain is not mentioned.
