Reincarnation is only a con if that is what you believe. I on the other hand believe very strongly in reincarnation. I always have. As a child I can remember thinking how I would like to "come back" as a dog or cat (because life for them seems so simple) and not know why or the reason behind those thoughts. Through my studies of Wicca I have learned recently that it is not possible to come back as another species as I previously had thought.

Reincarnation provides a sense of hope that whatever mistakes we make in this life can possibly be corrected in the next. We have second, third, fourth chances and that is reassuring to me. Everyone deserves another chance.

No one can prove reincarnation with hard core facts as no one can prove the existence of heaven or hell. It is a belief system, either you believe in it or you don't. It's as simple as that.

I would like to know where six billion souls came from, since there were only a few hundred thousand humans around in the stone age. The idea appears to be mathematically and logically flawed. Well reincarnation still makes more sense than the Christian idea where all humanity is being punished because Adam and his wife were naughty and ate a berry behind god’s back.

This is dangerous territory ! Many religions are very obstinate about their dogma on death. Eastern religion is more resilient with the concept of karma.
What about simply believing in spiritual clusters between families. They stay together and get born and reborn. This consoles the grief from losing a loved one. If people dont have children, then their pets will be the "bin" of such spirits.

Reincarnation doesn't make all that much less sense than being reborn in spirit - at least we have proof that things are born in body at all.

The idea is that your memory is wiped each time, so you don't get bored of it - the animal you are reincarnated as and the luck you have is dependant on your actions in the past life. The trick is to keep going, just like in Groundhog Day, until you finally hit that perfect reincarnation, THEN you move on.

However it doesn't really account for the fact that populations of all animals increase over time.

Yes, it is not true. We are only born once, and we die physically one time.

No. One body and one soul...and one birth...oh and one death. That`s the way God designed it and if you think about it it really couldn`t be any other way.
