I think that Christians are split on this one. The most religious Christian people I know were wearing anti-war (Iraq) pins back when Bush was just talking about it.

Because this is a war on beliefs. We as with all people believe in the right to defend our beliefs.Love your neighbor and turn the other cheek etc are maxims that are the ultimate truths of human behavior...not many people actually can do what Jesus taught us because we have fears. We defend ourselves against attacks...on our bodies or our faith and way of life.911 must not have taught people anything...how quickly they forget....truly read the world news and see how many christians have been killed by muslims...and this has been happening for years...in the sudan, in packistan Afghanistan, Turkey, the middle east and asia.

Good question. I think Bush has charmed many of the rural folk in this country with his good ol' boy attitude. People see him as a religious person, and gravitate to that. But I think many of those same people do not see the world beyond the U.S. I think it's easy to buy into his rhetoric and give him the benefit of the doubt if you were generally supportive of him to begin with.
Myself, I think the war is senseless and as a Christian, I despise it and the fake reasons for starting it.

They apparently have a clearer understanding of what is actually taking place.. most others seem to shirk it off as not important, in their frenzy to hate Bush and rip all his programs. All for the purpose of attempting to regain power, rather than being factual..
You seem to overlook the many battles fought for justice, even in Biblical times. The one we face now is for survival more than anything else. People continue to sweep that realization under the carpet... sad!! But it has all been fore ordained..All we can do now is sit back and watch it progress to its ultimate. I have watched it taking place for over 50 years and it is only speeding up in our present time.

Islam says the same thing. Though there are people who "misinterpret" or are just plain blind to what the Quran says. Same goes for the Christians. Sad eh?
What's even worse is that I read today in Time magazine that Bush calls himself an Evangelical but yet he has the blood of the world on his hands and shows no signs of stopping.

This is why Jehovah witnesses do not go to war, because the bible says not to kill. A Christian Must listen to all of the bible not just bit and pieces.
