My boyfriend and I want to get married now, like in the old days when you could wake the judge up in the middle of the night and get married in his living room... How is it possible to have a wedding like this, or is it possible these days? What do you have to do to have a legal marriage?

Call the courthouse. They will tell you everything you need to do. And it can all be done in a few days. That is how I did it. You guys just need blood test and your marriage license, which they should do there. Then you pay a few dollars ($30 or so) and have the judge marry you. Good luck!

Well, you have to get the marriage license but that can take a couple of minutes if the office isn't busy. You will have to schedule the marriage with the courthouse and that could take a couple of days -- realistically, you want your marriage to be legal and special. And I am imagining that you don't want to pull a "Britney Spears" ceremony b/c you care for each other ... SO, look into it and then go for it!

it depends on the state your're getting married in. some states have a waiting period of 24 hrs or more, then other states have none. in those you can walk in the j.o.t.p with birth certificates and walk out married. If your intended is divorced u also need the divorce decree after that u good to go.
