I've asked God into my life about 5 times already, everytime I said a prayer to ask him Into my life I didn't have a true relationship with him. I didn't read the Bible or anything. But do you think that I can say one final prayer to ask God Into my life and really have a true relationship with him? this time I am ready to have a true relationship with him. I am just wondering how many times can you ask God into your life and how many times will he forgive you? And HOW would I have a true relationship with God If my mom tries to run my life and won't let me go to church, I am 22 years old. I only have a Bible. I need to know how I can start a true relationship with God. I am SOOOOOOOO scared of going to you know where, when I die. please help me people. thank you!

When you build a relationship with a person, it doesn't just happen overnight, right? It takes time and work - so does a relationship with God.

Try talking to Him throughout the day. You don't have to say long, drawn out prayers, read the Bible, or meditate or anything - even though those things are good. Just tell Him what is on your mind - your frustrations, joys, sorrows, etc. He wants to hear them. Then, listen. I know it sounds stupid, but sometimes a thought or feeling will enter and you will think of maybe something differently than you ever thought before. This doesn't always happen, and sometimes it's a long time before realizing God is "talking."
Life isn't suddenly going to become "perfect" because you have made the decision to have a relationship with God. Sometimes He puts challenges in our lives to make us stronger.

To answer your other questions - God forgives over and over and over again. There is no limit to His mercy and forgiveness. He WANTS us to come to Him over and over, even if we forget about Him for a while and start asking Him again, he welcomes us every time.

You don't necessarily need a church to have a relationship with God (i.e. the concentration camps - how are people supposed to get to Church when held captive?) However, if someone has the opportunity to go, why not go? Secondly, you say you are 22, how is it that your mother is preventing you from going to church? You are an adult, and she does not have the authority to make decisions for you anymore.

Also, one last thing. Having a relationship with God is not necessarily about fearing Hell, but Loving God. He wants us to choose to Love Him out of free-will, not just fear of death. Hell is the eternal punishment for rejecting God. Just like you desire a relationship with God, God desires a relationship with you. Again, relationships need work and take time. Spend a little bit of time with God each day - even if it is just a couple minutes, or a thought here and there.

Just some thoughts... :-)

God is an all knowing God so he knows if you are true or not. You can repent fifty million times and he will forgive you. There's a song that says hes the God of another chance. Sometimes it doesn't matter if you go to church, becausew some of the badest sinners are in the church. You have a Bible and thats what you really need to live by. You nedd to pray and ask God what you need to do about some of these situations. Why can't you go to church if you 22 yrs.old?

Once you ask Jesus into your heart and ask him to be your Lord and savior of your life then its done....That doesn't mean that you can keep doing things that you know are wrong and think its ok because God will forgive you.....When you form a relationship with Jesus, its like forming a relationship with a new friend, the only way that relationship will grow is with communication, spending time together etc.....You are still a baby christian from what I can tell from your writing. You are 22 yrs old, and your mom runs your life?? Do you see something wrong with that picture? Go to church!! In time your mom will see that glowing light from inside and might just intrigue her and she will start asking questions!!

If you are ready to have a true relationship with God, ask Him to take over your life and to guide you into handling this situation with your mother not letting you go to church. I would encourage you to read your Bible. I also recommend looking at some books on strengthening your relationship with God. Look at a Christian bookstore for more information.

To have a true relationship with God first you must get to know him and how do you do this? By studying his word the bible and praying that he may help you to find the truth and help you to understand what the bible is telling you.
If you are not aloud to attend church now then please go to this web site and read about God and his son and his kingdom and his promises. You have your bible read it also. Pray that God helps you to find your way to him and your prayer will be answered if you really mean it.

First , everyone has sinned and fallen short of the glorey of God.None of us can say I have not sinned or I do not sin. Next God has loved you from the first day you was born and will love till you die.Only you can send you to hell. If you believe Jesus was the son of God, Believe Jesus died , was barried and rose again in 3 days . Ask God to forgive you of your sins, and repene ( change your ways ) you will go to heaven. If you are 22 years old and want to go to church , go. No one can stop you after the age of 18. But you do not have to go to church to go to heaven. But it does give you stringth and helps you to understand .You will get stringth not to sin from your brothers and sisters. You will l understand the bible from the pastor and sunday school. All you need to do is love the Lord with all your heart. In time if you read your bible every day , peay when you get out of bed , pray before each meal and pray at bed time you will know and feel the tuch of the Lord. But you have to only Love the Lord and Jesus with all your heart , Believe in Jesus and the Father , asj to be forgiven, repent and you WILL GO TO HEAVEN. I hope this helps you.

The Bible says you have to keep on praying and have faith that your prayers will be heard. God does want your friendship. Reading the Bible & meditating on what you're reading will help you draw closer to Him. Hell is not a fiery place of torment, but the common grave. No one can stop you from worshipping God. All of us are accountable individually to Him.

FAITH.......LOOK INTO THE INVISIBLE REALMS.
ACTUALLY SPEAK TO GOD AS THOUGH HE IS IN THE SAME ROOM WITH YOU.
DON'T BE ASHAMED FOR ANYTHING AND REALIZE HE UNDERSTANDS ANYTHING YOU TELL HIM.
HE'S INSIDE YOU AND KNOWS YOU DEEPER THAN YOU KNOW YOURSELF.
TOTALLY BELIEVE GOD SITS IN THE EMPTY CHAIR NEXT TO YOU.....EVEN PRETEND AT FIRST IF YOU HAVE TO UNTIL HE OPENS YOU ENOUGH TO ACTUALLY SEE AND HEAR HIM.
DO NOT LET ANYONE MAKE YOU THINK TALKING TO AN INVISIBLE BEING OF HOLY SPIRIT IS CRAZY.
GOD IS REAL......BELIEVE AND WAIT......LISTEN AND LOOK CLOSELY......HE WANTS TO TALK TO YOU.

"Trust." "Lean" and "Acknowledge." These are the three key points you must embrace in order to commit everything to God as you successfully walk in the Spirit.
Trust - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart..." Proverbs 3:5
To trust someone is to count them as honest, reliable and trustworthy. The foundation for being able to commit everything to God is your decision to trust Him and His heart toward you. The greater your trust, the greater His work in you. This is why you must trust Him with all your Heart (defined as who your are,, your inner most being) and soul ( your mind, emotions and will).
Remember your soul is in the process of santification--learning to surrender and submit. You cannot merely contribute a portion to God, you must release it all if you want to grow in your walk with Him and experience His peace and rest. did you trust Him with your eternal salvation? Then trust Him with your present and future here on earth! Trust Him with your every need. This includes your situation with your mother. Trust Him with your family and friends. Trust Him with your hopes and dreams.
Jesus Himself spoke of the great things that will happen as you choose to have faith in God. Read Mark 11:22-24. Trust is a choice on your part to believe that God is honest and reliabel. According to verse 24 what two things are we to do?
What does this mean to you? Write it in your own words.
Once you have made the decision to believe that God is trustworthy, then you can fall back into His arms with joy and confidence. This is a perfect picture of what it means to lean on Him. When you commit everything to God, you cease to lean on your own understanding and instead on his, allowing His Word and wisdom to guide your life.
Sometimes God's ways do not reconcile with your human reasoning; but if you are to live committed to Him, then you must keep leaning on His Word and wisdom NO MATTER WHAT!! Don't be surprised if that leaning brings you to unexpected places. Praise His Name!!
I am going to keep praying for you that you will come to that knowledge that God is on your side. Keep praying for your mother as well, God will not leave you nor forsake you.
I know that people are telling you to go ahead and go to church since you are old enough, however the Lord is telling me that in being a light to His Name and obeying the rules of the house your mother will see the light shine through you. Find you a quiet place and reflect on His Word. I don't know if you live far away from a church and cannot find a ride, therefore your mother won't take you, but rather than subject yourself to the devils desires by getting upset and possibly losing your temper, take this time to submit to your mother's rules and then pray for her.
I love you and would like to hear from you again. May God's Blessing fall on you everyday. Keep Praying!!!!
