I always use a plain slice of bread. It's very cheap. And since he's in college, you may want to use 2 slices. Then once he gets the package, he can make a pb & j sandwich with the bread!!! The bread won't be as soft and moist as when it started, but from being in college, I never threw away bread (unless it was green and moldy)!!

Yes you can send cookies in a seal/bag,just make sure you take all the air out of the bag.
They will stay fresh and moist for about a week.

If you put them in a tin, they'll stay good for up to a week. You will also need to put wax paper around the cookies - meaning on the bottom of the tin, along the sides,in between each layer of cookies, and also on the very top.
My mother sends cookies this way constantly and it keeps them soft and fresh while they're in the mail. Tins are easy to come by if you can stop by a Pat Catan's Craft Center, or have a nearby Goodwill (they always seem to have a ton of tins).

cookies are actually one of the best things to ship(baked good wise) b/c they stay fresher more easily than other baked goods. My husband is in the army and while he was in Iraq I shipped cookies many times!! They would take 2 weeks to get to him, and they would still be fresh pretty much when he got them. Bake the cookies and let them cool completely!! Then take a couple and stack them and wrap them tightly with saran wrap. Then wrap that with aluminum foil. You can put them in an airtight container after that if you would like, but you dont have to. I never did! Hope this helps!

I have sent a lot of cookies all over the world and I agree with InterpreterNatalie that a slice of plain white bread laid on top of the cookies will keep them nice and fresh while shipping. I have sent cookies to Saudi Arabia, England and Iceland and all of them arrived nice and fresh.

I've heard that putting a piece of apple wrapped in foil will help keep cookies moist.
i would just wrap them tightly in saran wrap immediately after they cool. that should keep the air away from them which drys them out. OR if you REALLY want them fresh...send them next day!

I think the post office or the UPS store have special boxes that insulate food. I don't think you'll have a problem with cookies. Just make sure that you pack them nice and secure and label them as "fragile". You don't want your boyfriend to receive a box of crumbs.

Wrap each cookie individually and then put them in a ziplock bag before sending. Make sure you send them the same day you make them.

Use the quart size freezer bags (ziploc type). Pop a bunch of popcorn. Fill shoe box or other box with popcorn, nestle bags of cookies in popcorn. Wrap box in paper, tape up, apply address label & postage.

I would get yourself one of those bag and seal machines at walmart that suck all the air out of the back and seals it up. It will keeo the air from making the cookies stale before they got to him. I have one of those things and it works great. under 40.00 at walmart, or you could check out other stores too.
