yes... though do this only with sites that you trust... if they make you go over your limit, they are not responsible for the charges that your bank may charge you.... even if it is their fault. They will not reimburse you for them... I would suggest getting an actual credit card and purchasing using that card instead of a debit card... if you plan on paying it off every month, don't worry too much about the APR and just about what you can payoff in one month taking your other expenses into account as well.

Yes.
In the U.S. and other countries if it has a MasterCard or Visa symbol on it.
If it has Maestro, Visa Electron/delta it can be used online if your bank supports this. You do not need your pin.
I use a separate checking account not tied to my main account for phone and Internet purchase. I have no overdraft protection for this account.
When I want to purchase an item. I put double the purchase price plus I keep $5.00 in the account.
You are still protected using debit cards In the US. MasterCard and Visa have zero liability polices in the US and some other countries.

Yes you can but be careful. I'd use a credit card for online purchases because you can dispute any charges you didn't make. If you use a debit card and the site is not trustworty -- they can drain your bank account.

Yes you can but I've heard that it's safer to use a credit card w/ a low balance. I think the reasoning for not using a debit card is b/c it is directly linked to you checking/savings account.

Do NOT use your debit card on-line.
These cards do not have the protection of the VISA or MASTERCARD companies. Which means: You will not be able to dispute a charge; If the company overcharges you, you will not be able to recover that amount; and the bank associated with that card will (in most cases) not assist you in transaction or delivery disputes.
You should also never use these debit cards for Rental Cars, Airline travel, or other purchases where a potential dispute exists.

Yes as long as the debit card has a major logo (Visa, AMEX, MasterCard) and the site accepts that logo. The difference is that the amount will be deducted from your account instead of billed to your card and then billed to you.

If you have a VISA or MasterCard debit card, then yes you can. (In other words, if your debit card also has "VISA" or "MasterCard" on the front of it, then you can use it as a credit card.)
