are you stupid?are some of the people answering this question stupid?theres only one answer to this dont get hit there in the first place.and to anyone that teaches these type of techniqniches.do you really know how hard it is to actually get someone in the nut s when they are coming at you in a real situation (dont you think that they may be aware of getting kicked or hit in the nuts)only an idiot teachs this.there are a lot more easily accessible places where you can do a lot more damage than the groin.besides that if you can get a kick/ hit/knee in the groin there already to close.you should have already done something "To befit the situation"
P.s to be a true martial artist you have to be able to absorb pain.it's not that easy.you cant say to a mugger stop your hurting me.send him to the hospital first. it's not about where you get hit/kicked/kneed etc.

Im sure there are some techniques that would prove effective. I wouldnt concentrate on something like this all your life though, it just sortof sounds like a waste of concentration my friend.
On the contrary... The nerve clusters on the shin are extremely dense and if you take a solid unprotected shot to this dense group of nerves, it will hurt. However, some Muay Thai kickboxers actually get the nerve endings somehow surgically severed so they can take more punishment on the shins. Or they just end up destroying the nerves all together somehow probably by repeated shots to the shin over years time.
You can probably somehow severe the sensation you feel down in your balls by doing something surgical or whatever. It all really depends on your goals in life and what you wish to accomplish. Do you wish to be a sport fighter, a street fighter, or whatever..

There are tehcniques that the Shaolin monks are taught that allow them to be able to withstand such strikes. I have also seen demonstrations of someone using one of the japanese styles withstanding groin strikes as well as strikes to other vital areas.
Also statistically there are about 1 in 20 people that have a natural immunity to such strikes. Personally, I wouldn't want to chance testing weather I was one of the people in that category during an actual fight.
As I understand the technique of resisting those strikes one method is to use muscular contraction to draw the testicles up into the body into the cavity from which they originally descended. This, as I understand it, takes several years to learn and requires a considerable deal of focus and concentration in the heat of combat.
The other method involves learning how to channel CHI (KI, QI) to specific areas of the body at will to strengthen that area to be able to resist it.
Anyone that says they can teach either of these methods, but won't demonstrate their ability to do so, is full of something.
I've been in the martial arts for 33 years, and an instructor for 27 and I wouldn't even risk taking a shot there...
Even if you can learn to ignore the pain and believe me ANY pain can learn to be tolerated, the physical damage is another matter. I knew soneone that faught n a trounament wiht 2 broken ribs. didn't take anything for the pain, just ignored it. He died from a punctured lung.
IF you want to learn to do this let me know and I will find the name of the person that teaches it, it's in my files somewhere....or you can go to shaolin and spend years studying...otherwise...just rely on defensive techniques...

Without having done a lick of research, there may be some Eastern meditation type ways of getting around the issues of pain. Some philosophies teach that pain is all in your mind, and if you can calm your mind and separate your body from your mind, then you can overcome pain.
I've not been able to do it, but that might work. Or you could try building up a tolerance to it by subjecting yourself to repeated strikes which would build up incrementally as your regiment wore on.
Pick your poison, or just, uh, don't get hit down there.

Yup, I guess I'm one of the 1 in 20s. I'm not sterile or anything, and while it does hurt - it never hurts nowhere near as bad as been described to me.
Maybe you're one of the lucky few, too?

There is one martial art (I forget the name) that focuses on using chi (it's not chi kung etc..., but is relatively new). Some of the tests they need to do to get their black belt (or rather their "master certification") were simultaneous punches on four sides of the neck (including throat) and kicks to the groin (all while blindfolded). It was some pretty intense stuff.
Oooh, thanks to the above poster
JUKO-RYU COMBAT-KI
That's exactly what I was thinking of.

I've seen Buddhist monks in demos who can handle getting hit full force in the groin. I have no idea how they do it & I'm not willing to experiment on myself.

I think yes... I have seen people take attacks to the throat and groin without injury. You can check out this web site for more info:

But please, don't try this at home.
