In making home-made beer,I'd like to add my own barley, but I'd like to grow it first.

For all the time and labor of growing it, you're better off buying malted barley from your local home brewing source.

If you absolutely cannot live without growing it yourself, check with the local farm supplier/co-op/feed-n-seed.
