I believe that the bible is the inspired word of God. Thanks for something else to read. I'm sure it will be well worth it.

The case for christ is one of the more poorly written and researched diatribes on religious history that you could "dare" anyone to read. How about this, I dare you to read- in this sequence "The Sign and The Seal" by Graham Hancock, "The Hiram Key" and "The Second Messiah" by Knight and Lomas....no first maybe just jump straight in at "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins. Then try "The Ancestors Tale" also Richard Dawkins, just in case you don't get the whole "evolution" thing.

Eh. Fairy tales usually involve some sort of moral lesson and all ends well for the one who was the "underdog" at the begining of the story. Not to mention they are folk tales that are taken and altered, usually drastically, from the folk tales and involve a different kind of magic than was in the bible. So, fairy tale wouldn't be a good word likely. Mythology might be a better one. And if put in a mythological context, it almost makes sense.
And reading no book about how Jesus or god, or any diety that isn't my own is going to make me convert religions. 'Cause I'm happy just the way I am.

It is a historical document, documenting the divine interventions of God mostly between 1500BC and 100AD. It was not rejected or skepticised by the Western world as observed history until the Age of Enlightenment.
The debate prior to that point was not whether the doctrine bore validity but which god is the true God and leads to the path of eternal life (such as Elohim, Christ, Allah, Brahma, etc.).

No I do not believe the bible is a book of fairytales!! If you would read it with a open mind and let God do his work it is a wonder ful book to read. You can learn so much from it if you are not trying to find something wrong with it. Most people trying to find something wrong with it is scared of it. It is nothing to be scared of . It is wonderful.

No, the Bible is not a book of fairy tales...........
You know I would be very scared to ask such a dumb question.
You must not have any fear of God.
If the Bible be not true then we all must be in a dream.
No Offense but:
I'll stick to the Bible, I don't really need the aide of another book to tell me what the Bible states clearly.

When one mentions 'fairy tale' it makes me think of something with a happy ending. I don't think any of the OT fits into that category. However, I know the book you're speaking of (haven't read it but heard people speak of it).
Remember, you can throw stones at something else that is hard, like another stone, and it will do no good. This is like the hardened heart of a non-believer. Use love with persistence so that you might lead them to melt away their hardness and rejection.

There's a book out there called 'Why People Believe Weird Things' by Michael Shermer. I dare you to read it. Will you? No. Will I read your book? No. Why not? Because I stopped using the 'I dare you to' method when I was in junior high school. Grow up.

If it had one thing right, it's that the end of false religion is near. You don't need a book of rules to teach you how to be a good person. People can change, as well, and fear is what motivates us to change. There will be no wheeping and nashing of teeth, or firey, damning inferno.
We will, however, see Heaven. And it shall be here on Earth.
