God, what a bunch of a$$holes answering this question! I'm sorry for what you're going through, I've been there. The best thing to do is to express your milk before you try to bind up your chest, or you'll be in the most pain ever. If you have a breast pump, that works best, express as much as you can, and then wear a sports bra or something that is snug but not too constricting. You may have a clogged duct which would explain some of your worst pain. In this case (I know it sounds weird, but...) get a disposable diaper and wet it with water, put in the microwave for like 15-20 second, and put in on your chest. I hope this helps!

TIME...only time will help. Try taking a hot shower. That will help express some of the milk to take some pressure off. Wear a tight fitting bra for a couple of days for support. After 3 days you should be getting back to normal...still engorged but not in agony anymore.
Good Luck!

Did you try eliminating offending foods from your diet before you decided to give up on your baby? he really deserves that milk. If it didn't agree with him then you should watch what you eat, not give him formula!

You think you want to cry? What about your baby and his immunities and well-being. There is no way you have tries elimination diets long enough to root out the trouble. Your doctor is an idiot and clearly not interested in your child receiving the best nutrition available!

No, you can NOT express any milk out of your breast. As long as milk is coming out your breast will keep making milk. You are just going to have to let it dry up by itself. The shower isn't a good idea either 'cause the water hitting your breast stimulates your breasts to start "leaking". Wear a tight fitting bra and just let your breasts "dry" up on their own.

If you are no longer going to breast feed than I can tell you what to do. My lactation consultant told me to buy a head of cabbage. Peel off the leaves and stick them in your bra. When they are totally wilted than take them out. If you do this you will not have any milk. You won't be able to get it back either. IT works.

in case you want to save up your milk furnish, how you are able to do it really is often nursing your toddler. once you're far out of your toddler, you may want to pump as typically as toddler will be eating. i'm wondering two times throughout the time of 24 hours became not adequate. that is high quality in case your milk furnish is particularly a lot less right this moment, that is going to go decrease back to generating more effective now that you're such as your toddler and feeding it. keep in mind, even even as human beings provide your toddler a bottle, you want to pump to save your furnish up such as your toddler. it really is cautioned that little ones breastfeed for a minimum of one million year: it really is healthiest for the toddler, and also has well being advantages for you.

Squeeze the breast milk out, preferably into a bottle and give it to your baby, continue to do this until you stop producing, if you don't get it out, it's gonna just keep hurting, so you may as well give it to the baby.

When I dried up mine the Dr. told me to bind myself for 24 hours and it worked. Take a bath towel (or some type of towel) and fold so it goes across your breast and pin as tight as you can stand it in the back. This worked for me
